No someone having a Platinum trophy for a game does not mean they have finished the game or earned all of the trophies for said game. DLC that releases for games does not count against your Platinum trophy progress. I have multiple games where I received the Platinum trophy but my progress percentage is not even close to a hundred percent because of DLC trophies. Exactly (I didn't know Sony finally did something like that) but not just for platinum's I think you should get something for each and every trophy. When I played Minecraft on Xbox 360 the few achievements I did earn it gave me something random every time.
I only go for platinum's for games I like nowadays, unlike in the PS3 era where I went for platinum trophies in every game I bought. Now trophies are definitely way worse than achievements on Microsoft's platform. I was saving some money for the Nintendo Switch but since that has been out of stock and the wait has killed my hype for it I'm just going to use that towards preordering a XBOX. A PS4 Pro was also a possibility but there's just not enough value in owning another PS4 for me.
