First off, to NOT include Jade Raymond? And where's Leila Kayleigh? What about Julie Stoffer from Electric Playground? And leave Blair Butler & Morgan Webb alone. Both are beautiful, classy ladies... Here's my Top 12...

It's 3:30AM Eastern Standard Time here in Miami Florida and I just found out that ESPN NFL 2K5, better known as THE GREATEST FOOTBALL VIDEOGAME OF ALL TIME, see the reviews if you don't believe me, IS NOW PLAYABLE ON THE XBOX 360. HOW THE HELL AM I GOING TO GET ANY SLEEP NOW? Well, better start playin' "Taps" for all those original Xboxes out there. Once "Tiger Woods PGA Tour 2005" and "007: Everything or Nothing" get the 'Backwards Compatible/DOWNLOAD for Xbo...
I thought that the 360 needed one more price cut to dominate this Christmas, but I was wrong. That Forza 2/Marvel UA bundle is selling like hotcakes, and the new (not 'repackaged') Elite version (Lot 739, Team FDOU w/Falcon?) is particularly hard to find here in Miami... And don't ask about the near riot that broke out at a local Toys R Us when customers found out that they had Wiis in stock. 360 just has too many games this Holiday, so much competition just among its own games that retaile...
Silvia, you have got it together! Why blindly choose a side when both have a lot to offer. Hey, I do ALL of my game shopping on a tight budget, and I still found a way to go Hi Def. I got the 360 HD DVD add-on for half price, and now I just got the 40GB PS3 for under $300 on layaway. I'll be playing b3yond in January... this format war isn't going to end anytime soon, and with the prices constantly coming down as a result (Transformers HD DVD for $19.99, anyone?), why sit out? I prefer H...
Very strong, thoughtful, & logical argument....
With the amazing Xbox 360, the casual fun of the Wii, the POTENTIAL of the PS3, this is a great time for us gamers. Yes, Sony has taken a beating so far this generation, but you have to admire their commitment to their groundbreaking hardware, after taking the Who Cares? approach with the PS2 last gen, an amazing, brave 180 degree switch. I love my 360, and hopefully will be upgrading to the Elite this Christmas. Still, I can't wait to see what the PS3 will bring in 2008, and I look forwar...
...they could get in some games THAT ARE NOT ON THE BC LIST FOR THE 360, then this could be huge. And the idea Feihc Retsam posted earlier of putting multiplayer in old Xbox games that did not have multiplayer when released is pure genius, bubble for you. I would pay anything/kill for the chance to play 007: Everything or Nothing in HD on the 360 with multiplayer! The price is a bit steep, but well worth it if this expands the list of classic original Xbox games playable in HD on the 360. ...
...things are looking great for the 360. 800K for GH3 is nothing less than amazing! I was at Best Buy yesterday here in Miami and there were over a hundred 40GB PS3s all over the store, just sitting there. A bunch of the staff were crowding with customers, taking turns playing GH3 on an Xbox 360 Elite. There were only a few 360 Pros and Elites around, and of course NO Wiis. I should have thought to take some pictures with my phone... I am worried about PS3. The image of all those 40GB ...
Transformers no Shrek 3 no Bourne no Matrix... get the point? Both sides of this format war have great exclusives. Maybe THAT's what is getting everybody so fired up--- fanboys making themselves choose one format over the other, and losing out either way on some great films in HD. Got an HD DVD player? Wait for Blu-ray to get under $300 or get a PS3. Got a Blu-ray player? Get your a** to Walmart and get in on HD DVD. Both formats are great, and both formats are getting waxed by DVD. A...
...those release dates. GT5 is looking more and more like a Winter 08 release. FFXIII is nowhere near done, with an 09 release looking more and more likely. MGS4 has already been moved to Q2. I agree that Sony will modify the PS3 price next year, but with games being pushed back already, when will they do it? Sony ALMOST got me with the 40GB $399 model (and who knows Santa may come calling since I have been a very good boy!), but lack of AAA games vs. 360's Murderer's Row of AAA games thi...
for pointing out that HD DVD has PLENTY of great movies out there, with many exclusive to the format thanks to Universal and now Paramount. The fanboyism here just doesn't make sense. If you are a Blu-ray fan then isn't this a chance to get some movies in HD you COULD NOT GET BEFORE, but at an entry fee of only $100? If there was an affordable (yes, for a lot of us, $399-499 is not exactly that affordable) Blu-ray deal out there like this HD DVD one I would jump on it, just to get Casino R...
...which is that HD DVD players are reaching that critical "sub-$200" point much faster than Blu-ray. With Sears, Circuit City, Walmart and now K-mart on board with the $198 Toshiba players, HD DVD is going to have a HUGE holiday season with consumers ready to take the HD plunge but not at the Blu-ray price. How long before Best Buy, Target, and everyone else starts marketing $198 HD DVD players, combined with 5-7 free HD DVDs? With Transformers out & Shrek 3 coming, HD DVD i...
Blu-ray camp nervous? I wonder. The big news here is that this sub-$200 HD DVD player is a TOSHIBA, and not some no-name player. That is huge, that a Toshiba player is the first under $200. 1st/2nd gen, not 1080P, throw whatever you've got at this but it won't stick. All of the people (like me) who have HDTVs smaller than 42" that DON'T DO 1080P (like me too), love the free local HD/satellite or cable HD and have been waiting for the prices on these HD DVD/Blu-ray players to come do...
Sony's software numbers. How many times have we heard that software and accessories is where the real money is at? The greatest thing the Xbox 360 has going for it is its attach rate of games & accessories. Every month VGChartz & NPD have 360 games all over their top 20 in sales. If the PS3 is going to persevere, their games' sales have got to start getting better. Sony advertised the hell out of Lair, Heavenly Sword, & Warhawk, and what happened? Only one game in the top 20...
right. 100 percent. I was at two Costcos last week here in Miami, Florida, and they both had the EXACT bundle ironwolf described "Costco has the Premium 360 bundled with Forza 2, Marvel Alliance, an extra wireless controller and battery packs and charger for $399" in stock. They also had a HALO 3 bundle for $499 which includes the HALO special edition 360, HALO 3 Collector's Edition, a Halo Spartan Controller, and HALO 3 game guide. I would love to get the Elite Bundle @ Costco,...
190,000 HD DVDs in one week means HD DVD CAN move a lot of units by itself. This is all about HD DVD trying its best to survive this "format war," since right now there are no winners. The real war is vs. DVD, and HD DVD/Blu-ray is getting a royal beatdown right now. Paramount switching to HD DVD helps the format stick around a little longer, with Toshiba ultimately hoping HD DVD can hang on long enough to be included internally in future versions of the Xbox 360 or its successor...
sippin' that "Tea in the Sahara" from the Police if you think Microsoft or the Xbox is on quicksand. RROD has been a nightmare for MS, but going to "Zephyr," "Falcon," and next year's "Jasper" is making the situation better. I myself am on my 3rd 360. My first 360 Core (Jan/2006) went RROD after 11 months, and I got a brand new one in 2 weeks from MS. I upgraded to a Premium Christmas '06, which worked fine until the DVD drive locked up early this O...
Very intelligent and well researched commentary! MS is in a much much better position this console generation, especially when you consider that they were just hoping "to increase market share this generation." I agree that MS is shifting to a philosophy of securing exclusives and away from first party development. MS owns HALO & PGR, so no problems there, and trust me, MS will secure continued exclusivity on Gears of War & Mass Effect; games like those are KEY to Xbox's ...
Not sure if I'm buying this one... Sounds like wishful thinking from Toshiba, feeling confident from the success of Transformers HD DVD. There is one major factor MS had better think LONG AND HARD ABOUT before going down this road: 12 MILLION 360 OWNERS. Any HD DVD games are going to FORCE UPGRADES onto all 360 gamers, which messes up the theme MS has been pushing all along with the Xbox 360, that "it's all about choice." MS would have to find a way to address this problem withou...
The only chance either format has is to go back to the negotiating table and work something out. All this format war has done is give internet providers more time to get faster download speeds and more time for terabyte drives to get cheaper and cheaper. Mark Cuban said that in five years everybody would have 5TB drives and download EVERYTHING-- HD movies, games, music, TV. Now that's looking more like just two or three years away. I'm willing to bet you that more people are excited about...
