Interesting seeing that as I went to get my copy today, all the PS3 versions of the game were sold out! Pretty much all retailers in the UK display both consoles on the same level, the irony is that the brand which gets the least space is that which is ruling the roost, namely NINTENDO. In most outlets the space for Nintendo is paltry, no big signs or logos, cos the retailers dont even have to bother to sell it, it sells itself!
PS3 has good shelf space cos they can drop the Blu...

The controls are sluggish, but that just needs adapting to! The menu layout is simple yet interesting!
The voiceover's are very good, just the right amount of gusto and swearing!
The enemy AI is unforgiving, it almost makes me wonder what the guys at Infinity Ward will do with the next Modern Warfare!

No matter what MS payed for this DLC, the main question that has to be asked is that how many people still have their copy of GTAIV! I know i got rid of mine 2 weeks after getting it, knowing that I'd beat the game and had enough fun with the Online bits! I'm sure Rockstar will re-release a new XBOX 360 version with the intent of stoking up interest in the franchise.
But all in all, this was a monumental waste of money by MS, just to show off that they had the big bucks, short of...

I agree in part with this point, definitely not helping JRPG's at the moment, if companies like SE think that the quicker way to make money is via UE then the are very wrong!

Star Ocean looks interesting... but JRPG's are in sharp decline, just look at the flexibility of Oblivion and Fallout to express what a PROPER role playing game should be about!
Halo wars... thats just fanboy territory, I highly doubt that any new fans would be getting an Xbox 360 just to play an RTS!
Killzone 2... Definately a DAY ONE purchase for me...

Great scans, worth a further look!... but IMO I find myself caring less and less for JRPG's that regurgitate old archetypes and stories in this generation of consoles. Its almost as if other gaming genres have progressed and the RPG still fights on with the old standards.
I guess I'm only waiting on FFXIII to re-ignite my interest in JRPG's, and if that fails, then so be it!
I'd love to see how many 360 fanboys actually buy this game... remeber there are no guns in the game...!
From my point of view, I could care less what a critic says about their choice for games of the year should be. The one golden rule I use is to think back to which games I actually completed, as supposed to those that were hyped to kingdom come and I got bored after the 10 hour mark! (am looking at you GTA4)
Remember all the nay-sayers spouting their crap about this game... have their tones have changed...
KZ2 will OWN 2009! That box looks too flush for the retail copy, but I hope they do something cool for the box art!
Of course the PS4 and PS5 will have optical disc drives, as long as the reach of the internet is not 100% worldwide, meaning that EVERY possible person to purchase a PS4 hasn't got internet, then it would be a Very bad move to release a console or hardware lacking a disc drive of some sort.
Remember the good ol' days when Square(enix) focused solely on the artistic direction of a new IP, because the sales were always guaranteed...

Not a bad move after you read the fine print, just a means for Sony to offload the 40gb SKU as retailers are not keen to stock them any longer!
Its a Win-win really, because Sony would raise the profile of their online retail point of sale, and also keep the high street shops sweet by taking the 40gb SKU's off their hands...!
It's unfortunate that EA aren't doing so well, kinda think that all the bad press that they got over the years is really playing a role with their current stock.
In my opinion the mistake that they made was after restructuring their game development approach and philosophy, they forgot to tweak the overall image of the company... i.e. logo and corporate branding.
Years of conditioning from bad games and poor press critics have made me weary of that "EA" l...
