Very simple really! Did the res or lack thereof for GTA5 hamper the game experience in anyway? I dont think that was the case and neither should it even be a talking point with The Witcher 3.
I am more interested in the mechanics of the game that lend a sense of belief and reality to the game world i.e. Skyrim.
But lets say if this was a 2d/3d fighting game, then res is becomes a need rather than an option for the developer.
I truly believe that the resolution of this game is irrelevant. And we are many months away before it goes gold, so plenty of time to optimise.
I shall remain optimistic until then.
Its a smart development strategy, develop for the console with the largest install base, and not expose themselves if the game is a commercial flop.
I'm certain the folks at Sony will be keeping a close eye on the project, and making future deals and arrangements based on analysis of the game.
There isn't any logic in implementing a price cut this early. As stated above a price cut spells desperation and signals that they have lost the narrative of their sales strategy.
Even if Xbox is able to shorten the lead drastically, true business acumen would regard a knee-jerk price cut as simply leaving money on the table.
But surely being able to produce a game for fixed hardware carries some distinct benefits!
No surprises here to be honest, I still think there is a place for a brick n mortar games specialist on the high street. They need to be savvy with pricing to match the online offers, but still profitable or else its all for naught.
Game represents the worst of the British high street, quick to gouge their customers - be it through terms and conditions or secondhand game pricing, a certain percentage of staff are lacking in core skills require to provide the basic in customer...
Summary: Everything sounds nice ...!
Well there are a lot of haters out there... The game is a lot of fun, signed up on PSN Plus just to get it, and am not regretting that decision, despite the game being so close to launch.
Nonetheless I've never been a fan of World of Warcraft fantasy style MMO's, but I like the concept of MMO's and this and SW:TOR are 2 games that have completey got me thinking about jumping the MMO bandwagon...
With regards to the changes that can be implemented...
Its on life support... if it takes a AAA to sell that many copies on PC, then things aint looking good.
I bought only 2 PC games this year (Civ 5 & Starcraft) but got everything else on console, just becasue they are multi-plat.
hmmm... link?
10gb well used in my opinion ...!
Yeah its selling well ... if you live in North America, but dont forget to factor in the Halo effect in said month.
I'm not gonna get a football game just because its got great visuals. Undoubtedly PES this year looks a lot better than FIFA 10, but that's about it for PES.
The review score is not bad, but I feel that Konami has to go back to basics with the PES series, scrap the current code and redesign the game based on the legacy of the franchise. And most controversially I would think it better to scrap the idea of yearly releases in order to build a much stronger title!

After my watching both clips my opinion is that everything about the GT5 trailer smells of class and substance! Just simply take the choice of background music... something with tempo but not abrasive, melodious and not brash! The opening shot is typical GT ... its almost car porn, with a Ferrari thrown in for good measure. Whoever directed this trailer should be give a lot of Kudos, CGI or not!
The Forza trailer is typical advert that I wont be surprised to see on the TV for rea...

Well in my opinion I don't see MGS: Rising as something near and dear to Kojima, I can almost see the hand of Konami behind all the machinations behind this game. I'm pretty sure the buzzword for this game as its in development is "western appeal" this isn't a game being aimed at the Japanese market.
With the video of MGS: Peacewalker, you can tell that this is the game that Kojima is most interested in working in, its a shame they didn't bother to think about have a PS...
I loved how they intro'd this in the show... by displaying all the players online! This game has a lot of potential to succeed! And i'm holding my breath for a Beta code sometime in the near future!
Sony had to show this device ... MS forced their hand! and interestingly the Sony device seems like the most likely to succeed due to how easy it is to use!
MS pulled out the big guns (Spielberg) for Natal and that shows their intent and concern, in that they needed a BIG name to endorse the device!
Sony's motion controller is a vast improvement over the Wii controller + Wii motion plus, as the tracking and speed of controls are incredible! This is not a pointing device. People c...
Let me be cynical for a minute as I analyze what MS actually announced in their conference!
All the games that were announced were expected or rumored months before E3, with the exception of MGS:Rising.
Project Natal was shown too early as I think MS should have saved that for the next console, which would allow them to market the console to a broader market from day one! At the moment if Natal was released in the next 12 months I would only surmise that you would be seeing it app...
Well in truth if EA Access were also on the PlayStation platform I dont believe these comparisons would exist.
Both services offer a very different take on supply and demand of digital games. Sony is simply offering an al a carte menu for every and all to choose as they like, paying for only what they want.
The cynic in me is however not so keen on EA Access, as it sends a message to publishers that they can split away and set up their own individual programs...
