You need to trade in your PS4 so you can buy an X bone to play MCC and Sunset Overdrive. Aren't you sick of having nothing to play?
This article should be banned for trolling.
I'm actually shocked how little the differences matter. I'm not saying I don't see them, but they simply have no impact on how much I'll enjoy the game. I think peak gfx is approaching.
It Is SLIGHT. If 1.8 Tflops renders in 1080p, then 1.3 Tflops will be able to render the exact same thing in 920p (IE roughly 40% less pixels)
Most people will tell you that the difference between 720p and 1080p is so slight its almost unnoticeable on a 50" TV sitting 10 feet away. 1080p has TWICE as many pixels as 720p and 50% more vertical resolution. 1080p is only 15% more vertical resolution then 920p.
The leap from 360 to Xbone is 465%, the leap ...
If Greenlight required you to have as many no votes as yes votes, or required you to put a deposit down on a game to vote yes - it would be a great contribution to gaming. As it is FAR to much festering, unplayable garbage is being foisted onto the public.
Steam is not making any games. They have simply opened up the platform to indies. Indies produce 100x more volume than AAA, and generally 99% of it is garbage.
Gameplay has always mattered more than graphics. Go look at the classic greats and tell me you wouldn't rather play them than something Next Gen with a 30% meta score.
The Xbone is 1,300 GFlops vs the 360 at 230. That's a 465% increase.
The PS4 is 1,800 GFlops, which is roughly 40% more than Xbone.
So the difference between the 360 and the Xbone is 12x GREATER than the difference between the Xbone and the PS4.
If the difference between last gen and this gen is not significant - then 1/12th of that is INSIGNIFICANT. Basically undetectable to the naked eye.
The wall of diminishing returns on Graphics has been hit. We need to focus on make play, story telling, AI, physics, and revolutionary new mechanics. Because beyond 1080p the extra pixels are less and less important.
"Open them up side-by-side in tabs, and let the browser scale the PS4 picture so they are the same size, then switch back and fourth while looking at the same exact spot using a magnifying lens..."
Yeah that's the definition of moderately better, not STAGGERING of "night-vs-day". I can tell the difference between night and day with out any effort, without focusing on the same spot. Night and day is like PS1 vs PS4.
This could really hurt the game on PS3 and 360. People will worry about the world being empty.
I'd put the golden age of PL gaming as start in with WC2, apexing with Doom and ending around BG.
SNES and Genesis.
40% of all 360s were sold in those "non-core" markets btw. FWIW.
Who cares if Xbox "wins" a month. It matters 0% to gamers. It matters only to fanbois and shareholders. Root for the games that are coming out because you want to play them, not because it will shut up a bunch of baby horses on the N4G Comment boards.
A lot (not all) of PS4 fanbois (you get moderated if you call them baby horses), can't enjoy the PS4 unless Xone owners are miserable.
"Crackdown was on of the first drop-in, drop-out co-op games, but we're going more towards 'there's just the game,'"
That sounds awesome. One day I was playing DR3 and after about 10 min I realized someone else was in my game. It was great.
BTW I know I will get flamed, but without the cloud this kind of thing is really hard to do. Don't get me wrong, it's been done on PS4 and PS3 before too. But the company'...
More proof of the editorial bias of N4G. If someone posted In The Comments Section "Why the PS4 Is A failure" they would get moderated. Yet this trash is on the front page.
If Xone is a failure for being slightly less powerful and slightly lower sales vs PS4 then 360 and PS3 were failures last cycle. Apple is a failure. Etc...
People have to look beyond resolution and FPS to understand the potential benefit of the cloud. Just look at something like WoW. That is the benefit of having hundreds of millions of $$ of servers supporting a game. Except MSFT is putting BILLIONS to work. Yes - a mega hit like DOTA or WoW can probably afford its own servers, but many titles sacrifice and have user hosting. So don't think of the cloud as offering a bump from 900p to 1080p or to 60fps. Think of the cloud as more mass...
Horrible lost. Far to focused on recent gamed and ignores the truly revolutionary. GTA isn't even a PC game, not when it's on consoles for a year first.
I never got Deusex or Portal, but enough people love them I can't argue there. BG is obviously a top 10. Startcraft should be replaced by War craft 3 as the pioneering RTS. HL2 and Civ5 are also top 10.
The real problem starts at 10. Morrow in is the best ES not skyrim. SimCity SUCKS. Foot...
35% better than 780. Isn't that roughly 780 levels? No die shrink. No h.265. No thanks.
