MSFT was going to let you "lend" games, but they wanted to put DRM on it. The outrage over it and the required Internet check in is one (of several) factors that led to poorer sales vs PS4. Sony has stolen the idea, and modified it a bit so that while you don't have the DRM and Internet requirement, you can only do it with games you bought digitally. I would expect MSFT could do something very similar since they initially built the Xbone to do this.
WOW the Sony trolls are really mad about having to wait 6-12 months for their digital boobies. What is this, article 1,000 on how MSFT is evil and a big meanie for doing what EVERY company does - spend $$ to develop exclusives. Don't get me wrong, it would be better for all of us if PS4 users could play DR3, Ryse, Forza, Horizons, MCC, Halo 5, SO, GOW and Titanfall and Xbone users could play ISS, UC and God of War. But that's not going to happen.
The only people complaining about EA access are Sony trolls that will never buy an Xbone but secretly want access to the service. Xbone owners either love it and buy it, or don't see the value and don't buy it - because EA isnt forcing this on anyone
MSFT never said you could use that number to estimate the number of boxes sold. It's a dumb idea. I have an Xbone and I've never used that app. Likewise some houses have multiple accounts on one box. It's the idiot author that made this silly jump, and now we have another thread full of Sony trolls talking garbage like MSFT has only sold 3.5mm units or that SO and MAC are timed exclusives. If you bothered listening to Phil Specter you would know Shenmue is coming to Xbone (and maybe PC). He has said several times it's the single most requested sequel and only MSFT can afford the development costs.

I thought PS4 was around a 760 (1.8tf) and X bone was 750ti (1.3tf). Regardless I agree with your point (albeit unspoken), even if CD PROJECT used every ounce of power the PS4 has, it would be barely noticeable vs the Xbone, and a good PC would kill them both (although still not enough of a difference to make a real meaningful impact on gameplay).

Who exactly does this surprise? I doubt outside of select weeks around SO, MCC or Halo 5 that the One will "outsell" PS4 even in the US, and I'm an Xbot fanboy. I'm not sure I really care either. I just want it to stay moderately ahead of the 360 so we keep getting great games. We should all congratulate Sony. If the PS4 flopped they would be done as a company - and they make pretty good stuff. I'll eventually get a PS4, maybe for a God of War game or something.
Base on sales so far (and financial resources) I expect Sony to try and milk the PS4 for 10 years like the PS2. MSFT and Nintendo probably go for half that. I'd call for a new Nintendo Holliday 2016, and a new MSFT in 2017/2018
DX 12 will help Xbone about as much as Mantle helps an equivalent PC (AMD CPU with a 750ti). It will make is easier to hit 1080p and 30fps, we are only about 10%-20% away from that right now. PS4 will also get stronger, and it will always have somewhat stronger hardware, but we are talking about a 760 vs a 750ti. Not a huge difference.
Procedurally generated means everything will look like it's made from a handful of parts stuck together randomly even if they look retarded that way. We have seen it hundreds of times. You want quality you have to limit scope and or bring in the modern to make content. Just look at EL and compare Dagger fall to Skyrim. Each world got smaller and higher quality / less install travel. Or go the route of Spore and fill the world with user made content.
I'm really looking forward to this game as well, but I need them to give me the option to turn off weather effects. I don't want to drive at night, I don't want to drive in the rain, and I am SICK of sun glare in driving games making me unable to see what is rendered on 2/3rd of the screen. I always thought maybe they did this so they could avoid rendering anything at all.
