I have to agree with other commenters, 3 is for a game That Is border line unplayable or worthy of not just criticisim, but mockery.
If it's just not fun, I'd say give it a 5.
And remember unlike other short games, this wasn't over hyped or $60.
But the reviews have been bad enough this looks like a no buy.
God the trolls are strong on this one.
Yes the sales war is likely over. Xone "lost". But that's not how businesses work. XONE is selling more then 360 BY A LOT. There are still hundreds of millions of people in the US and Europe that don't have a Xone, and could buy one.
Much more excited for PC to Xone streaming. This will be a game changing feature. My 980tis can render at 4G ultra and stream to my 110" TV in the living room.
"In the case of things like Scalebound or Crackdown or Quantum Break, you know, just to be completely honest with you, we started those games before we really looked at expanding into Windows in the way that I wanted to bring as part of becoming head of Xbox."
That is great!!!! Now will Azure be available for PC? That would be game over.
WiiU is over. They are focused now on completing titles that are already in development. No new games will enter development for WiiU. 3rd party will look to PS4/Xone. 1st party will work on next gen launch titles.
This whole market share idea is stooopid. All that matters is how many units are being sold. Every one that doesn't own a Xone yet is a potential customer. I don't care if you are still on 360/PS3 or have a PS4. Winning is vs your financial projections and 360. PS4 can sell 100mm units in Europe and all that Zone fans should say is "Good Job". If MSFT moves 50mm Xones exUS they will be VERY happy.
Neither console can deliver an acceptable VR experience. PS4 can't do 1080p @60fps. Quality VR requires 2 separate 1440p screens running at 90 fps. That is a MINIMUM. 4k at 120hz is preferred.
VR can offer a great new game play experience, but it has to be perfect. Go try Gear VR if you don't believe me. PC is still 5 years off from being able to do this on a high end PC.
WHO CARES? Crackdown showed us what next gen gameplay can be. Can't we focus on new experiences and next gen gameplay rather the graphics, graphics, graphics?
Give me massive open worlds, cloud physics and cities with thousands of smart AI npcs. Games were fun at 720p, and 480x640
If they are saying they don't think they can do this on Xone and PS4 because of GFX, that just stooopid. Run it at 720p 30fps for all I care. If it's because of open world, AI, Physics etc... ie gameplay.... at least sit down with MSFT and talk about what might be possible.
Now if the issue is that you need PS4 install base to make a profit....that is a potential problem. Maybe you do a timed exclusive with MSFT and Sony agrees to use Azure to deliver a similar ex...
You can't just keep making the same game over and over.
I hope they bring in the whole vudu and witchcraft vibe. Maybe a bit of Gabriel Knight and a bit True Blood.
I cannot wait to see this in action. Please start selling your code to other devs. Imagine this in 8v8 Superhero PvP or 16v16 Mechwarrior.
I do however have some concerns regarding the amount of power required. They said 3 players can require up to 13 Xones worth of power, on what seemed to be a fairly small map. What will 32 players in an open world require? Will Internet connections be capable of that? Will MSFT be willing to provide that much power FOR FREE? Heck wh...
The "lulz secret sauce" Goon Squad is out in force on this article. "It's just Crackdown", "its still a tech demo", "It won't work in the real world". LoL.
Look let's make a truce - we will admit the PS4 COULD do this and you admit it's awesome and you are jealous.
All Sony has to do is spend a few billion on server infrastructure, spend at least 2 years writing back end code and then find a developer ...
I wonder the same thing. Can I actually go inside the buildings? They didn't seem "to scale" in the demo.
too bad so many people are trying to downplay this instead of hoping for a gaming revolution. I can just see this is a multi player 16v16 Mechwarrior game. Or what about in a superhero brawler MMO. Or maybe a real war game with tens of thousands Of AI+PCs?
What else can this be used for. Obviously massive persistent world's - but w...
If you can play any other multi player game you can play this one.
The last one was soooo bad
The only reason these articles bother you so much is that you are a fan boy not a gamer. Gamers want whatever is best for gaming. If they could suddenly make the PS4 10x more powerful I'd chear. Although I'm more interested in new types of game play then prettier graphics. But you and your kind spent the last 18 months trying to make Xone owners feel bad and lulzing over secret sauce.
I'd love to hear more ideas on how this can be used in the future. I think ...
Wow terrible list. How about Bloodbourne and Uncharted?
Unfortunate because I would love to see what is on tap to compete with Tomb Raider, Fable, Halo 5, Scalebound, Quantum Break, Halo Wars 2 and CRACKDOWN.
Fable, Tombraider, Halo 5 and Crackdown 3 are all system sellers. Not as sure about Scalebound, Halo Wars 2 and Quantum Break. But man the next 12-16 months are loaded. A lot of 360 and PS4 Owners Will Be Joining Us soon.
MSFT provided a lot of technical and financial support to make Titanfall work. Now the Dev has $$ and knows how to do perfect multiplayer, so they don't need MSFT exclusive. But I wish NSFW would buy the IP or do a similar game with Battletech IP
"Worse, it took 21 seconds for Jared Petty of Ign to walk to the other side of the road."
Forget about 5 min speed runs via a glitch, when they slow down walking this much and still have an avg finish time of 5 hours - not much to the game.
