Donkey Kong Country (and Killer Instinct) really surprised me to see that a game could look THAT amazing back then. Even if it's pre-rendered, it must have been mindblowing for those who had it when it first came out.
Edit: Also Yoshi's Island. That game's animations were as smooth as butter. Sure beats the low frame rate of many 2D games we see now (especially the many that use flash)

Man, nice blog. My experience was practically in the reverse order. Many had PS2 as their console, I had older consoles as pass-me-downs (since I was the baby in the family). Here's hoping that's the case. I'm especially excited about how they said there's an option to use the PS4's enhanced 1:1 sixaxis tech (way better than on PS3) to steer the vehicles 100% smoothly in first person view!

Edit: Yeah, that has nothing to do with what I said, but I was just wondering if this is a Beta or not. Kinda wishing they put GT6 on PS4 (enhanced next-gen version, as well as PS3 version) instead right about now.
So...the game is being released in Beta form? I mean, how are they gonna complete enough of it by the release date? Just wondering...
I guess it's cool if it's free, but a retail version needs to be more complete if it's coming out this year.

I wonder what it would be like to use a VR herdest for a THIRD person game. I wonder if it would be weird. Considering that every sensitive movement of the head would move the camera. For an FPS, yeah. But a 3rd person game (especially TPS and platformers) would need to watch how much they allow the player to control the cam with their head since it won't feel as natural with the cam being pulled back in a 3rd person view).
I have no problem with Ultra SF 4.
HOWEVER, it does split-up the matchmaking. So if they keep doing this so many times (isn't this like the 3rd or fourth "update"?), then that sucks because having to keep paying for new characters just to guaruntee that your not singled-out in matchmaking is almost akin to being suckered into paying a subscription fee (for a game u already paid for).

Even though it's a lot cheaper than any other VR headset on the market, an Oculus costs as much as a PS4 for consumers.
Edit: Sadly, the best we can hope for is if the PS4 eye camera has headtracking. Which still won't feel as immersive, but at least can track the head. Either way, the option of actually seeing that in games is low since the cam won't be included with PS4's anyway.

With Atlus going bankrupt, Square-Enix becoming increasingly lame, and my favorite series's like SaGa Frontier and Star ocean being delegated to crappy phones, I am now officially worried about the future of JRPG's (when it comes to quality JRPG's coming to the West).

Yeah, I know it's definitely not an MMO (as it doesn't fit the description of being a singular/particular classic game). Maybe Solitaire, maybe something else. Who knows.
