The consoles themselves are not locked but some games are. I imported the asian version of Lost Oddyssey and it worked on my console fine.
Because they wanted to buy a console where they could actually play JRPGs on. Square Enix really shafted Japanese 360 owners on FF13.
It's because Sony doesn't actually have anything else for this year. Sure they will announce a few games at E3 but they will be games that come out next year or maybe later. For example lets check last years conference when they 'announced' The Last Guardian, GT5, Agent and Modnation Racers.. none of which are out and only one even has a release date.
Same story in 2008 when the announced MAG (only just came out), DC Universe Online, The Agency (both still not out!), InFamous (c...
Not to mention Huxley, Ninety Nine Nights 2, Monster Hunter, Kingdom Under Fire II, Mechwarrior, Dead Rising Case Zero, The Secret World, APB. Plus loads of exclusive unnanounced games we might see at E3 or GDC - Gears of War 3? Kingdom Hearts 3? FF13 DLC, Too Human 2? Prey 2? PGR5 from Turn 10? Something from Rare? Mistwalker? Epic? And the unannounced games from 343 Studios, Wingnut, Firebird and Spawnpoint Studios.
Yeah, I think the 360 line up is clearly the best.
Yeah big deal, it had one bad week and it was probably because no new releases came out. Otherwise, it's been holding it's own pretty comfortably in a region where most people said it would fail.
We will see a big boost in a few weeks when FFXIII comes out in USA on 360 as the Japanese can then import it.
If anything this will be 360 exclusive in the end. PG couldn't care less about the PS3 as evidenced clearly from their last title.
Cage doesn't seem to understand that most people would rather just watch a real movie.
God of War III doesn't look too bad but don't forget, N3II is coming out this year exclusively for 360.
Edge are one of the oldest and most respected publications out there. It's not my fault that they give unbiased opinions that aren't swayed by advertising like the other examples you give. Gamespot are probably the only reliable ones and guess what? They said 360 version is better.
KZ2 won't be remembered for anything, just like the first game. It's an average franchise with a minimal fanbase.
Final Fantasy Versus XIII will be announced at E3 in Microsoft's conference. Because most people don't know about it still, they will be blown away by it and will think it's 360 exclusive as MS conference is always before Sonys. I'm looking forward to next year when KH3 gets announced as a 360 exclusive.
Lets just wait until a reliable source like Edge or Lens of Truth and then we'll see just which is better.
As already mentioned that screenshot is very average at best. That level in particular throws up some pretty generic gameplay. Poor lighting, poor shadows and terrible use of palette.

This is an ALPHA image of Halo Reach and already it's blowing KZ2 out of the water, not just in terms of quality b...
It has an incredible aesthetic quality to it.
They have to keep bringing this up because they are scared that their beloved KZ2 actually looks about 3 times worse than a game thats been in development half as long. I would be upset too if I only had a PS3 and saw the pinnacle of gameplay and graphics coming to 360 only.
Thankfully, they are using the PS3 demo for their comparison here, which Sony fanboys are so quick to remind us was superior to the final version of the game. When you buy the PS3 version, it'll look identical to the 360.
Yeah, nobody wants to show real comparison screenshots because there would be outrage if people found out the 360 got the better version
Seems like they already know their game is destined to fail and are begging for another publisher for future.
As expected, the 360 version looks superior
I'm perfectly entitled to include those titles if PS3 fanboys are including Resistance 3 (not even announced), The Last Guardian (not confirmed), Agent (almost certainly not coming in 2010), GT5 (not confirmed, could EASILY slip to 2011 at this rate), etc.
