You can't really be redefining the genre when all you're doing is copying Gears of War
Obviously, I would have given this game a better score, but that online mark really did bring the average down to around the 6/10 mark. I therefore decided to generously round it up, not least of all to bring it in line with N4Gs rules that you mustn't take an average.
Shadow; Yeah, I worded that very poorly. What I meant was that you walk down a corridor, go through a door and then get a cut scene. After the cut scene, the door mysteriously shuts and you can't go back. Don't get me wrong, I don't have a problem with that, but you can't claim the levels are huge when in fact each one is split into about ten smaller chunks. This is my first review and I'll take into account your criticism about not finishing it for future as that's maybe a fair point.
If you don't care, why are you here reading news about it? Admit it, you were finished with God of War after eight hours and all you have left to look forward to is some terrible multiplatform ports and a poor mans Mario Kart for the rest of the year.
Riiight, so I should have my reviews banned because you don't agree with my opinion on one game? You say I'm not entitled to my opinion? Yet you have no problem with the other fanboy reviews giving this game 10/10?
I played the game and I didn't like it much and I've explained why with a decently written review. If you don't like it then that's fine but how about you write your own reviews and tell me why you disagree with what I said instead of just saying what I've written is ...
Of course, those developers will make games EVENTUALLY for move, probably because Sony will force it on them. This is not exactly news. It's like saying EA are going to be supporting trophies.
This guy needs to shut up and finish making his game and then maybe after release start thinking about adding even more stuff that nobody is going to bother with.
Oh dear, it uses 100% of the PS3s power yet the 360 is only half maxed.
I wanted to play this on my PC and now I have to wait even though it's sitting there ready to be released. Thanks a lot Sony.
All these people moaning about how the 360 will lose power with Natal obviously haven't seen Halo Reach - probably the best graphics in a game so far and it might be using Natal.
Pretty poor figures but then only 4 million bought the previous games and that was with a 120 million user base. I predict 2 million lifetime sales for this, what a disaster.
This is not a new game, it was announced years ago only now it's just being released in episodes instead of full retail.
I totally agree with the article actually. Ninety Nine Nights 2 is the true king of hack and slash and it's coming exclusively to 360 later in the year.
Uh, Sony do not own the 'FF7 IP', especially as such a thing does not even exist. The IP is Final Fantasy and that's owned completely by Square-Enix. There isn't an IP for each individual entry.
Sony may have published FFVII but it was mainly because back then there was no way Square could translate and distribute it to the west on their own. Crisis Core, although published on a Sony console, was done so by Square themselves and NOT Sony. There is nothing to stop this game going ...
They also gave below average reviews to Gears of War and Mass Effect, not to mention Uncharted 2 and Littlebigplanet got their game of the year awards for 2008 and 2009 so if anything they are biased towards PS3.
Final Fantasy VII remake confirmed for Xbox 360, I can't wait.
They gave it a 5 because they tested the inferior PS3 version.
Like I keep saying, Edge are pretty much the most reliable source out there so I'm glad to see that they've given gow3 an 8 because it just shows how much other sites have overrated it, and yet everyone says the media is biased towards the 360, I think not somehow.
Obviously it was for money because they knew PS3 owners wouldn't bother buying it. It's not ideal when you create a masterpiece and nobody appreciates it, so SE gave it to an audience who would.
It may well be the graphical ceiling for PS3 and I'm quite sad to hear that really, but I hear it's only using about 60% of the 360s GPU so thankfully there's still quite a bit to come from one console at least.
