Crossplay has always been an important factor. The only reason you're hearing about it now is because of how huge social media became. I don't get these comparisons. Why try to match and limit to a console budget when you can vastly exceed that with the bonus of not having to pay to play online and have access to a much larger game library? And that's not including all the things you can do with the platform.

There's literally no excuse to not have the digital PS1 games you bought last gen playable on the PS4.
There is nothing wrong with wanting more than just games. There is nothing wrong with wanting to be able to play the PS1 games I bought digitally during the PS3 days without having to hook up my PS3 or own 2 Vita memory cards and having to go through a process just to switch between my EU and US accounts. There is nothing wrong with pushing for cross-platform play.
I still have will continue getting games, but I do want more out of the PS4 and PS4 Pro I bought on their laun...
Don't you even dare pull that crap. That's the EXACT same garbage people pulled when the PS4 launched with HDCP implemented console-wide which prevented people from using their capture devices to stream/capture footage.
