go take a look at MS's e3 conference the year they announced kinect, and tell me that MS delivered all they said kinect ( or natal as they called it back then) would be capable of. the answer to anyone with an intelligent and non-biased brain is no, they didnt. not even close actually. its nothin more than a well advertised eyetoy right now.

That's funny. Some would say Kinect itself has been over-exaggerated.

it depends on how far you are from what you are seeing. for the most part, tv resolutions are as high as they need to go. if your ten feet away from a 60 inch tv, then you won't notice much over 1080p. how ever if your face is a foot away from a screen , like pc users, then upgraded resolutions will matter.

actually, you won't probably won't see a difference in 1080 vs 4300p (or whatever super hd is). thats because the human eye can't detect that much detail. it all has to do with how far your tv is from you. if your 10 feet away from a 60 inch tv, then 1080p is the most you will be able to recognize. and unless tv's get way, way bigger (at the same prices as current sizes), or we start scooting our couches way closer to the tv, then anything past 1080p is pretty much just wasted...

At least this guy explained his criticisms. And it was an interesting read. All a guy can do. It wasn't senseless hate at all.

He talking in a future tense. So even though you think yourself owning a ds invalidates his statement, he's talking about the future. I mean is it really so hard to believe that in a few years, cell phones will be the most popular mobile game systems? Phones have a lot of advantages over handhelds, that make it not a question of if, but when they become the dominant mobile gaming "console". Maybe 3 years, maybe 20, but it will almost definitely happen.

Now if th...

Sony's business model is to make money, period. Inflated repair bills would be a nice way sneak a nice little bonus cash form hardware sales. I mean come on, Sony is a giant corporation, they are going to get money no matter what, even if it involves secretly screwing consumers over. All corporations do, why would Sony be any different?

It takes about 20 bucks to get the materials to fix a ps3 yourself, why would it cost them 180+ to fix it?

Kids shouldn't be appreciative of the us education system. It sucks. Its too strict and it teaches kids way to much useless crap that is not necessary. 75% of what kids learn about in science is useless unless you're a scientist. Kids spend 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, and 8th grade revisiting nouns, adverbs, and adjectives. It's redundancy at its finest. Just because we spend a lot of money on our education system, doesn't mean its any good.

Any hobby will result in poor study habits. Lets face it, studying is boring. PLus Young kids and young adults have a harder time making long term rational decisions. They can make good decisions, but generally it must be instilled in them.

It also doesn't help that kids nowadays are given way to much in the way of homework and overall responsibility. Childhood is a time to learn from observation and ones mistakes. Thats how human kids learn best. Sitting them in a desk ...

Obama's never been anti gaming. All he said was that kids shouldn't sit in front of a tv for 8 hours a day. Is that wrong?

Unwanted, lets say Sony decides to remove the ps3's ability to play games. Far fetched I know, but bear with me. Technically, it is within their legal rights. All they have to do is update the user agreement and give it to you again. However, a court of law can deem that anyone who purchased their ps3 based on it playing games deserves compensation, even though Sony isn't doing anything "technically" illegal. And again, I know that this specific scenario is not over going t...

It's not being thrown out because of its credibility, it's being thrown out because Sony already discussed and got the ok for removing the other os feature with some Australian bureaucracy. If Sony hadn't of done that, it probably wouldn't have been thrown out, if the guy had a decent lawyer.
