Kirb read between the lines dude. What nin is saying is because they have a significantly smaller base they will have to pay much more to have exclusive dlcs, than Sony due to the difference in opportunity cost for the publisher.
This puts Phil and team in a situation where they have to pick and choose their investments more carefully - after all they don't have a blank checkbook and have an allotted annual budget like any other division within the company
Stevo your response remind me of the time I told some kid "try walking in my shoes" and he responded that he likes to wear flip flops with a blank stare.
What about the immaculate horizon zero dawn? The slew of top tier games releases on PS4 - Nioh, Nier, etc.
Cup head looks good but honestly let's not go overboard here.
whats with the hyperbolic statements like "its going change console gaming forever.."?? Its going to change it as much as the PS Pro did - which is nil. In a year or two a PS4 Pro2 will be out and that will be the most powerful console ever and im sure you will be on here saying the same garbage "its going to change console gaming forever.." well forever must mean a different thing in your mind.
Sounds like a madeup rumor - not saying you made it up but im sure its something that got started by someone else. Its fact that its cheaper to buy chicken then to buy a cat or even send someone out to hunt one down and then to skin it and prepare it, the man hour wouldnt even be worth it effort.
Guys when you hear these kind of stories in most cases its just some rumor started by someone.
The war is over PS4 won. Duh.
Not meant to be a controversial statement, but more observational - this game and Neir(PS4/PC) selling over 2 million on limited platforms, namely the PS4 shows developers with limited resources can still be successful when launching on a limited number of platforms.
Are we back to the heydays of ps2 were devs like Rockstar and others can make mid-level games like Manhunt which is affordable to make but profitable?
Trying to support old consoles will ultimately work against Microsoft in the long run as devs hit bottlenecks with the weaker CPU where simply offering low to medium settings won't solve.
Reason why next gen devs ditched last gen support
This argument is silly.
Currently - ps pro most powerful ever
End of yr - Xbox x most powerful ever
Next yr - ps pro 2 most powerful ever
Following yr - Xbox x2 most powerful ever
Yr after that - ps5 most powerful ever (new baseline is established - devs start dropping PS4 support to maximize ps5 use)
Microsoft still pushing Xbox x2 and original Xbox one as part of same ecosystem all games must support all Xbox one consoles) - devs compl...
I suspect he heard from Neonridr. Lol
Internets a funny thing where a thought can become a fact.
Cross play ain't got nothing to do with it. Microsoft offers early access and the game is still in beta so it will be on Xbox by default until the games official launch which will most likely be on PS4 as well a la "We Happy Few" route.
I think this is an area Sony can step up and start doing early access to prevent these kinds of defacto timed beta exclusives. I guess on the flip side smaller devs do release finished games exclusively on PS4 defacto due to h...
I think you'll find less and less devs taking the time to really optimize for the X. It's basic economics - why spend dev cycles to develop extras for a console that has very tiny footprint. It may change overtime if it starts selling more units than the base model.
In destiny 1 entire end game metas were formed on the PS4 due to the exclusive free exotics. that is why you get destiny 2 on PS4 for the exclusive content.
Sony has the most powerful base console which happen to represent the bulk of the users and will continue to represent the largest purchasers of consoles. That is a pretty substantial advantage as well.
I'd you don't have an 4K tv and don't want to spend $400-500 pro vs X them your getting the PS4 base model because it's the most powerful.
Well here's an idea ditch the Xbox and get a PlayStation and you can play with 64 million players. If Microsoft had the largest console install base they would absolutely not be taking this position you can be 100% sure of that lol
It's clear as day why Sony Won't support it. Heck I wouldn't either if I was in their position. Why give into one of the key selling point for the PS4 which is access to the largest ecosystem on consoles with 64 million users. It doesn't help Sony and helps Microsoft a ton with their smaller user base.
lol If it launched on Xbox it would have tanked faster.
All the fps COD, Battlefront, battlefield, etc. players play on PS4. I mean who the heck really plays on an Xbox?
This is utter nonsense. You would stream 4K assets on the fly? Won't believe it until I see it
Looks like what Mike yabara is talking about is uploading games u don't play into the cloud vs keeping it locally installed. Not sure how that is different than just redownloading from library or Disc.
What kind of nonsense is this? PlayStation is pumping more exclusives than both Microsoft and Nintendo combined. Whatayawant you ungrateful sacks of dung.
Not to play devils advocate but isn't humble bundle usually older games sold in a packaged price i.e. Games that have already been reviewed?
If ign was the developer there is a direct conflict but the question is would ign ever be in a position to know if a game they review would eventually come to humble bundle ahead of time? Then I think you can make a case what's to stop them from giving a game a higher score to boost bundle sales down the road.
