The guy posted this on 5/27 on how he was going to kill on 6/5. And he posted under gaming, said he was a nerd, and decided to kill in a Japanese gaming town. You could say it might be a copy cat crime and was a different person that did the crime, but it's definitely valuable information that this article provided.
Unless this is a site that can only post gaming ...

This is the only article to post that 2ch site, without this article I would've never known about the posts in 2ch.
The 2ch post in Japanese was totally legit because it predicted it was going to happen, either people believe it's the same person or not it's up to the reader, but that was valuable information.

Well, I truly do hope the developers would make this game multi-lingual so it won't matter if it gets a Japan only release.
This is one of those games that even if you import, the point of playing the game would be lost, since it's a game that you learn about the animals and all those encyclopedia descriptions would be in Japanese.
I've been following this game's posts, every time I see alot of comments like, "it's an interesting game, but I don't think it justifies me paying for it."

I think it would be too big for a PSN title. You got real footage and pictures of each animal and stuff. You are supposed to roam Africa and find all sorts of animals, once you find them they are added to your library where you get footage/picture and descriptions of them.
From Japanese magazine scans, the game is supposed to have real animal habitats and behavior so during day and night they'll act differently.
It's more like a game w/ a encyclopedia for you to learn about...
The Japanese price for this game is on the cheaper side compared to other Japanese PS3 games, so it'll probably be cheap here.
And to answer your question, Hell Yeah!! I'd rather play this, relax and learn something while having fun instead of just more brainless killing, there are already enough of those games.
I only wish they would get a consistent frame rate because I do notice it during some scenes, and frame rate drops has always bothered me whenever it occurs ...

Mine hasn't gone blank yet either, maybe you have weak connection... does that to me sometimes when my router is knocked over and my signals are weak (my PS3's down in the basement).

Japanese stores gets random updates all through out the week, so at least they don't get stuff slower than 360's live marketplace.
US only updates once a week, and it's still not efficient.

It used to be that I can watch vids off Veoh.com on PS3 but I guess they use a newer version of flash now which PS3 doesn't support yet...
Hopefully with the next firmware update veoh will work and hopefully more video codecs are added.
Why not just get the console version? You get online play plus more characters. As of now Fei-long and Dan are confirmed. There sure will be more to come.
Also you get bonus animations of each character's story included in the home version that's not in the arcades.
Being able to play disk based games would only boost their sales of the PS3. It would be a stupid move for Sony to do it only for downloadable games.
The Japanese store is taking pre-orders so at least it'll be a blu-ray release in Japan.
With the amount of detail plus footage vids of the animals, seems like it would be too big for a PSN download title though.

No where in the page says 2006 at all. I don't know where Google Translations get that number.
This is the reason why I translate things cuz while sites like Google Translate are useful, they are totally random...
The description emphasized on the game being more of an "experience", with the animals and environment in Afrika.
So it sounds like an experience game while learning about the animals in Africa with a Pokemon Snap type of game play.
5980 yen is also on the cheaper side of the Japanese PS3 games. So it might be cheap when it is released overseas also.
