Chances of scratched or damaged disk or getting it stolen, lost in fire or whatever might happen to a physical copy is still greater then a digital one.
I like the sense of owning a physical copy but your digital copy is there forever as long you remember your login and password to PSN
MS have a strong marketing team that is smart on marketing their products.
They gave away tons of 360s and added that to the total sales number, so I don't doubt that this is also MS marketing pre-ordering their own product.
As long they can manipulate the news to make it seem like a hot and always sold out product, the news will report it and the no clue parents will buy it, it's just how they've been doing things. It works, sad but true.

Apple's ipod (American product) dominates over Sony's walkman there in Japan. Warframe looks way more interesting to me then both this and Killzone.
Warframe being a PS4 launch is the actual game that made me want to own PS4 on day one because even if the other launch IPs turn out to be bad, at least I know Warframe is going to be a fun game I can enjoy with out even having to spend anymore money.
Guaranteed fail safe that might actually be even more fun then all other new IPs
