In the case of 3rd-party devs, the problem is that it takes extra work to down-convert a game as opposed to just being able to do a straight port. That's something Nintendo didn't foresee when they decided not to make the Wii an HD system. So initially, devs skipped releasing to the Wii because it took extra work (with the outcome being a game that doesn't look as good), and then later skipped the Wii just because the older audience had moved on to other systems anyways.

Thanks, I'm glad you enjoyed it. :-)
I had a feeling while writing it that people would find the first half fascinating, and in the second half the fascination would turn to outrage. I see my prediction wasn't too far off. ;-)
More like worst video game name since Narbacular Drop.
Could reward PS3 with a version of Team Fortress 2 that has all the PC updates that the Xbox version doesn't have.
What was so "new" in Other M, aside from SenseMoveTM? Other than that, it was little more than a very average Metroidvania game, with a couple significant gameplay issues, and a nearly character-destroying story.
Technically, if the LBGT did a voting campaign, they'd be voting for her to be female...because a MtF transsexual is considered female.
Maybe he meant that it would somehow ruin all first person shooters, while sparing GOW, which isn't one.
There were two main problems:
1) A game that would appeal to fans of Mario Kart and Modnation Racers, paired with an advertising campaign that poked fun at those same games.
2) Released the week after another arcade racer, both of which got caught in the shadow of RDR (which it seemed like *everyone* on my friends list was playing the week of Blur's release).
No, sadly its just an HD version of the Wii game, which was not a remake of the original game, but rather a brand new adaptation of the movie.
To clear up the confusion slightly for all the confused people in this thread:
Activision currently owns the license to publish games using James Bond and related characters and titles.
Nintendo and Rare jointly own the original code, level designs, etc. of the N64 Goldeneye 007. The remake couldn't use the multiplayer levels and things because Rare owns those. Meanwhile, Rare couldn't use original names like Klobb in their Perfect Dark HD remake beca...
Actions speak louder than words.
That Metroid comic is so sad... :-|
They waited too long.
Exactly, GameInformer is one of the few magazines that really remain almost completely honest when it comes to their *reviews,* because the magazine is so widely circulated that a publisher would only be hurting themselves by pulling advertising in retaliation for a low review score.
To be fair, it should be said that Nintendo is in fact just now entering the *current* gen.
It'd be silly to release a new console so soon when the PS3 has only recently started to become affordable for a lot of gamers.
Longer isn't necessarily better. Portal 2 is an example of a game that knew the value of "leave them wanting more"...if any of those chapters had been slightly longer, it would've started to overstay its welcome.
If the chapters in Madness Returns had been a little shorter (moving onto new worlds quicker...and maybe adding one or two more worlds to make up for it), I would've enjoyed the game more. Each world started to feel kind of stale by the end, an...
I know what you mean, it's not like any of us were kids when we were first introduced to the NES (or for some, SNES).
In videogame publishing, if a game is published by a different company elsewhere in the world, it's usually not because that publisher didn't have the rights, but because that publisher didn't want to publish it / didn't think it would sell enough in that country to be worth it, and gave the rights for that country to another publisher that made an offer. Atlus publishes a lot of games in the US that the original publishers had no interest in doing.

Agreed, they really should've had this (and the other DLC coming out -- a Deathmach Battle Mode) in the game from the start, or released it as free DLC to try and add value and convince people to pay the 12000MSP.
