I'd say it's not very accessible at all. I find it bloody hard completing it on Easy with Ryu. I played Street Fighter II about 15 yaers ago and I can pull off most of the moves but it's still hard. I'm damn sweet at Virtua Fighter, Dead or Alive and Soul Caliber but this game is nothing like those. I'm not complaining as I do think it's a damn good game, but if it were accessible, surely someone who's sweet at most fighting games would be able to smash it on easy?

What inconsistency? The game has got mostly 9's and you call one 8 inconsistent? Some people are just harsher reviewers and judge parts differently. This guy clearly had a problem with it not being genre defining (which is pretty harsh) but some of the reviews say that, although it's really good, it's not that innovative so he may have a point. So giving the occasional 8 isn't really that surprising. People don't have to love the game just because of the graphics

Good rant, I agree. It'd be SO lame to just strafe round everything with a shotgun just mauling them. It's good to have to take your time to aim. It's much easier to get headshots than other games because you can't move. RE4 was indeed one of the best games ever, and it would definitely be completely different if you could just run around circle strafing and shooting. It'd probably suck.
