People keep squawking about how it cost $50m to make and therefore it'd be $100m today. That's simply not the case and if you played Shenmue at the time it was out, you know just how ahead of it's time it was. I can't really think of any game so far ahead of the pack on a technological level.

Well it's not weird, it's true, uncharted was like a next gen tomb raider.
But Naughty Dog are just superior developers so everyone is now trying to catch up by copying. There's no way Tomb Raider would get close to this in terms of quality!
Don't worry Xbots are just a touchy bunch but it's understandable. The only relevant franchises for MS are Halo, Fable and Gears - the exact same as things stood 8 years ago, with no innovation in any of it.

Well MS did bring Shenmue to consoles back in the original Xbox days. So I was quite surprised to see Sony take the mantle instead, but given they're Japanese, it's not entirely unexpected.
MS are too concerned with Gears, Halo and Fable at present, just like they were 8 years ago. Stuck in the past.
People want this game to be made, and the donations will make the game better...I thought people were happy about this a couple of days ago!! I doubt a company wants to sink too much into his when the first two didn't sell as well despite the quality. But if Sony want to plough in millions to make the game better, that's great great news. The kickstarter thing is additional funding, it's not all a conspiracy...the more money poured in, the more likely it'll live up to the firs...
Lol Tomb Raider will run twice as good once again when it comes to PS4! There's nothing fanboy about it; the game will come to ps4, just not straight away. But in the wake of Nathan Drake, no one will be buying this!

MS just never seem to want to do the right thing anymore. Microtransactions to speed up progression are bullsh!t, especially when it will result in in-game unlocks being excruitiatingly long to incentivise people to spend their real cheddar. F-you 343 industries, enjoy becoming the next COD. And Halo 4 was actually an excellent game...such a shame!

Disappointed? Uncharted 4 shat all over pretty much anything! You thought you'd see a single player trailer and multiplayer? Like with 2 and 3 where they always showed set pieces at e3? I was expecting an epic set piece just like before and like the rest of us with a brain, ND delivered and then some!

I loved my 360 as it had some great franchises (Gears, Halo, Fable), but nowadays there's a new king in town. To be still really excited by these franchises that have barely changed is baffling to me, Gears, Halo and Fable are old news. I was excited about them 8 years ago...but with nothing changed, not anymore.

Microsoft's conference was shite! Gears looked literally identical to what's come before...the graphics didn't even look that improved but that's cos most of the powerz were reserved for Kinect when they designed teh console.
The rest of it looked like kids games.
But Sony had FF7 remake, Shenmue III, Last Guardian and Uncharted 4. Let's not be ridiculous here, but the first 3 in this list almost broke the internet!
