When OG Xbox titles coming to BC got the biggest applause at Xbox's E3, that's when you know their exclusive lineup is utter trash lol
FFS... they can't. When will people understand this? Due to the night and day difference in architecture, to have a PS4 that could natively play PS3 games, it would literally have to have a PS3 in it. Take a good look at a PS4, then look at even the smallest PS3. Do you really think it would be cheap to take that PS3 and shrink it down to such a size that it could comfortably fit in that PS4? I'll give you a hint: no.
Launch PS3's had PS2's built into them ...
@Rommy That was a feature introduced just a couple years ago on PS4 (I think along with the trophy screenshot). You could never view them on PS3.
I agree on the point that stat tracking is cool, and would be great for trophies, but I had to stop reading after that.
"Sony are being dicks again, while MS is working hard"
Like, really dude? You're telling me that MS releasing a $500 Xbone, essentially designed to abandon the ~30 million early adopters, while admitting they have little interest into investing more into they first party, and throwing games like Crackdown our way, is worki...
Not even close. It's not going to be done until the holidays are over. It'll likely finally hit its low point in sales around when God of War releases.
This article is only retail, and it's stating 3 million as of June 10th (almost 2 months ago), so yeah, it's easily well above 5 million now.
Considering it's still in the top charts for both NA and EU for July, I would honestly assume it's well passed 4 million at retail by now, and probably around 5.5 million total. Crazy thing is it hasn't even been heavily bundled yet. I'm pretty Sony is going to do one for the holidays.
Sony won't, and why should they? Last gen they were pushing for this, but MS said no for the same reason that Sony is now; cross-play would have a lot more benefit for the smaller install base. With PS4 having the far larger install base, people who don't own PS4's, wanting to play specific games with friends who do, would now have less reason to buy a PS4. Cross play would potentially remove a lot future PS4 adopters. Why should Sony want that?
MS had the same...
I'm expecting the potential PS5 to be a 4K machine, and the potential PS5 Pro to be a dynamic 8K. I have zero anticipation for 16K for a long while lol
Besides, isn't 16K pretty much only practical for projectors in movie theatres?
It is, but why the hell did Nintendo think it was a good idea to make it available only at certain times if the day?
With the X not being a "true 4K console" like certain individuals tried to claim, the Pro is more than capable of competing with it, especially since Sony has the advantage.
Yeah, we know, and that's why it's obviously not happening in 2018. I guarantee Sony is more than happy with the financial results of PS4. I can't see any reason why they'd want to derail that.
Depend. PS2 sold 30 million after PS3's launch because PS3 didn't have nearly as good of a launch as other PlayStation consoles. It's also very likely that PS5 will be 100% BC with PS4 software, which will definitely put a damper on PS4 sales if it manages to get strong next gen software out the gate as well.
I honestly don't have much faith in the Chinese market, due to their serious problems with bootlegs. Maybe that will change, but I still think it'll be a while longer before they start having a big affect on the global console market.
Like I said, I'm very confident in PS4 and know it's going to do amazing numbers; I just don't want to outright claim it's going to be the best selling video game device ever.
Was Nintendo prepared for anything? lol
I figured this is obvious. Unless the developer valve, games almost never come in only Two's, especially not with ND.
The PS2 had the added benefit of selling very well into the PS3's cycle, due to the first couple years of the PS3 being a total travesty. I don't think the PS4 will have that advantage, since I don't we'll ever see another PS3-level issue come out of Playstation.
I'm thinking around 130 million PS4's sold before Sony completely cuts manufacturing. Even still, those would be incredible numbers for an industry that was predicted to be going down the t...
Sony is projecting 79 million shipped by March 31st 2018. Looking at these figures, I think that's them being very conservative. WW2 is easily going through be the biggest CoD in years, plus Destiny 2, BF2, GTS, and God of War... Sony is going to SELL way more than that. I'd say they'll have sold around 81 million/ 82 million shipped by March 31st.
The company's market cap quadrupled in the last 5 years, and yet there are still kids out there trying to claim they're "going bankrupt"
@VforVideoGames Yeah, the company whose market cap quadrupled in the last 5 years is totally going under lol
Here's a thought, since this is a gaming site, let's compare the division profits of PlayStation vs Xbox. I have a feeling you won't like what you see lol
It's not gonna happen. Switch isn't even going to outsell the Wii. Not only is the massive hardware disparity for a higher price going to cause a problem, the AAA third party support simply isn't there, and it may never be. The biggest third party games aren't coming, and the few that are will be lacking in content compared to other versions. Switch will do very well, but not that well.
For those of you that want to claim Switch is tracking ahead of PS4, in...
