So basically, PS3 had the 360 beat before 8th gen started. Cool.
Sony mainly screwed it up for themselves. They made a crazy powerful console with architecture that very few understood, hence why it was years before the power was even realized. They made a console that originally costs them over $1200 to manufacture, which they sold at $600. A severe loss, which they expected the game sales to make up for, despite having zero third party support and very few first party exclusives out the gate. Sony got arrogant, and it cost them dearly for those 4 years b...
MS never had 50% marketshare last gen. Not even close. At the beginning, when PS3 and Wii launched, it might have for a little while, but that's because it had a year's headstart. After the first 6 months of Wii's beating sales, it quickly lost that. The only console that came close to 50% throughout the entirety of the gen was Wii, but it never actually did it. All 3 were fairly close in WW by the end of last gen.
@ginsunuva Believe me, I critique the hell out of them too, but that hype excuse is total crap, and anyone with a brain knows it. Sony's done a great job this gen so far, and the immense library of games released and coming proves it. Yes, they've had their shortcomings, but PS4 is doing great because it is great. I bought mine day 1, and have had zero regrets since, because I know how Sony works, and by the end of this gen, PS4 will have some of the most amazing games in history.
Given the Star Wars and CoD bundles, and the next push from Destiny, I'd say Sony can easily sell close to 5 million consoles by years end.
LMAO! Xbots and Nintendrones still using that excuse almost 2 years later. Hype and discontent doesn't sell a console for this. It doesn't produce over 50% marketshare worldwide, 70 - 90% in an entire continent. Hype doesn't produce a library of games that dwarfs the competition https://en.wikipedia.org/wi...
Hype is something that's short lived. P...
Avoid disappointment? I remember when everyone was doubting Sony going into E3, and they blew the real gamers of the community away with all the awesome stuff they had to show. They wouldn't have 3 more keynotes if they didn't have a shit ton of surprises in store for us.
Easy. The original PS was such a resounding success because Sony was smart and capitalized off Nintendo's poor relationship with third party devs. They created the most open platform in history, and invited all developers to make some of the best games in history. Out of the big 3, Sony is the most genuine gaming company; always has been. They've never put the most focus on a select few genres/ titles that sell. They take any and all games, which is why PS always such an amazing libra...
Maybe it's just the darker lighting, but this game is seriously looking like the closest thing to photo realistic graphics on console. I'm just glad to see that all the nay sayers at the beginning of this, who tried to say there was hardly a graphical upgrade from last gen, were wrong. We've been getting some amazing looking games lately, and the future looks very bright for both PS4 and XBone.
Truth be told, even Chinese consumers know these products are cheap knockoffs, which is why these products never go anywhere. Honestly, who gives a shit? After the abysmal sales of XBone and PS4 in China, we already know the market for home video game consoles is literally dead there. They pretty much all play PC.
Especially one that MS clearly has a serious investment in, when it was already going to be difficult for the game to be a top seller (TR 2013 sold like crap, especially on XB platforms). Now you have one the biggest game franchises in history on the same day. Few gamers run out and spend $120 + on video games in a single. The vast majority will simply pick one. Simple logic. Would be no different if it was any other game.
It's not gonna be a dilemma for most people. The vast majority of people will pick Fallout 4, no question.
The majority of people who buy games will always choose just one over different periods, especially games with the same release dates. In this case, RoTR doesn't have a prayer at even holding a candle to the sales juggernaut that will be Fallout 4. The last Tomb Raider was by no means a sales powerhouse, and the vast majority of it's sales were on PS platforms. It took several months and a 8th gen re-release for the game to be profitable. I'm honestly surprised that MS hasn't ...
Then when people realize the power of the crackdown cloud is nothing but more smoke being blown out the corporation's ass, they'll find a new date for the comeback. Before we know it, we'll be looking at new consoles.
@MrKrispy It's listing 8th gen platforms only. Even if the game is on PS3 or 360 as well, it's still exclusive to that 8th gen if it's available on that/ PC.
I honestly don't see XBone outselling PS4 for the Nov/ Dec NPD's either this year. Sony has the marketing on lockdown for Battlefront and Black Ops 3. If they can land exclusive bundles for both, they'll dominate. M$'s only real hope is trying to get Fallout 4 marketing, but they probably won't because RoTR comes out the same day and they want that to sell at least a few copies lol. Besides that, they're only legitimate card to get some good holiday sales in is Halo 5,...

135 PS4 exclusives vs 53 XBone exclusives. This list includes all exclusives that have released and are confirmed to be releasing. Considering Sony has 3 more conferences for the rest of the year, while MS has nothing until next year, it's safe to say that PS4's list will only grow from here on out, while XBone's list will s...
It's not his priority because it's never going to happen lol
It's entirely probable that XBone won't even take back the US at this point, given Sony's emphasis on getting marketing for the biggest third party. Combining that with their awesome schedule of ore exclusives down the road and the possibility of price drop, XBone doesn't have a prayer on the sales front.
I'm gonna get hate, but I still really want to see it in action with my own eyes. Problem is, MS has been touting the cloud as a game changer in several games like Forza 5, Titanfall, and Sunset Overdrive, and every time we get a subpar game, graphically. I just want to see the destruction for real before I become a believer.
It's hilarious how Xbox fans come out in full force, to attack games lineup for PS4, when they literally haven't had a single AAA title in over 10 months (unless you count scream ride lol).
Looking at the Wikipedia page that compares all exclusives (released and upcoming), there's no comparison. PS4 is king for most games this generation. To top that off, Sony still has 3 major keynotes coming up to announce even more stuff. Chances are, we'll see Level 5'...
