Gaming journalism IS sh1t, and this is just silly. People aren't content with their e-penis waggling now, so they have to take the fight to the future of what COULD be? Last I checked, neither God of War 3 on the PS3 side, nor Mass Effect 2 on the 360 side were confirmed for 2009.

I have to agree to an extent Xi. The only GOTY nomination that SHOULD matter is your own. People complaining about why someone else didn't like the game they like most is going a bit overboard, even if I do feel MGS4 is GOTY.
That said, I still don't understand GTA4. I think its such a huge step back from San Andreas, and THAT is what disappoints me most about it.

I think making the NPD sales public has essentially ruined the ability to intelligently discuss gaming online from the angle of ...what's the word I want?? Oh yeah... FUN!
Because people today seem to equate EXCESSIVE use of motion blur, depth of field, and normal mapping as "next gen."
Does anyone do awards for the fun stuff any more? Like best new character, best sidekick, best boss music, best boss battle, best ending, best gameplay moment, best set piece... no? No one? I mean, Best Graphics, Best Original Score (MGS4!) are great and all, but I'd love to see someone have some fun with bringing up things like the Savior battle in DMC4 or the pure epic pwness of MGS3's ending.

As far as I'm concerned, this is the same kind of "news" as Star Ocean 4 not having an "Only On Xbox" label on it.
Honestly, I still love CoD4 the most for my online needs. It's just a great, great game even after all this time.
Though I swear, CoD Modern Warfare 2 NEEDS host migration. CoDWaW not having it is a joke, and something I really can't stand for.

I'm curious to see if the Famitsu review effects things sales wise... if its true that WKC is "only" as good as other Level 5 RPGs such as Rogue Galaxy... well I can't freaking wait.
Honestly, I don't have much hope for it. Nor do I for their other PS3 title, the King's Fieldesque looking one.
Hopefully, they prove me wrong!
