I'll get it just because it's halo. Halo : Combat Evolved was magic for me. The sequels were good, and I'll definitely pick this up just because it's in the halo universe. The more they hype it the more pumped I'll be to get it. Hopefully it's not a let-down.
Edit -my idea of hype might be skewed though as I'm living in taiwan. I've never even seen the master chief on a can of mountain dew.

They really just want the installed base of the ps3 to be larger before they launch. Of course all the extra time won't go to waste, as they'll surely be polishing it up until the very end.
It's going to have parts where you can (optionally?) flashback to plot points of the previous games. Even if you haven't played the old ones you'll be able to follow the story(as well as one can follow it anyway).

It plays just like a movie. Once I started playing it I really couldn't bring myself to put it down. It's a really awesome game. There's not really anything else like it. Music is good, the pacing of the game is excellent - it always moves forward - and the gameplay is challenging (the shooting). The platforming is just a means to get you from a-b. It's done in a way that makes it easy to do, yet satisfying.
I can't stress enough that this game is awesome. Sure it does...
That game was awesome!! You could set up all these situations and make the ants battle it out. They had ant A.I though, so there wasn't anything special in that aspect. But this game could be absolutely insane if you could manipulate the animals and situations.
How about 10 elephants surrounded by 20 lions surrounded by 30 crocodiles?

It's actually a really cool game. I didn't play any online, but the single player campaign is lots of fun.

to optimize the unreal engine for use on the ps3 does that mean that the improved engine gets distributed to other companies licensing it?
It has a 720p version.
