I don't think it is a fair price to pay (especially in my case, as I had to spend half the price of the console in shipping). Ok, 2-4 isn't really a tragedy, but it's still unnecessary and unfair.

NO PRODUCT should be this prone to failure without some sort of recall and remedy for the problem in future models.
Edit- I had to send my box over seas back to Canada to get it fixed and pay all the shipping and $hit. It cost half what I paid for the damn thing. If the problem I had (RROD) was unique, I wouldn't feel so shafted by the whole thing, but the fact that they are selling millions of these things and not fixing it makes it much more frustrating. And why the HELL should they have to buy a cooling fan for something like an xbox? The build quality of the 360 is just $hit. YOUR 360 is $hitty quality, but like I said, you're lucky. I WASN'T lucky and I had moved to Taiwan with my Canadian xbox when it crapped out on me after 2 months and I had to jump through #ucking hoops to get it fixed. It made me bitter. The games aren't $hit though.
Delete it and download it again from the US PSN. That's all I could suggest. If you haven't tried that yet than do it 'cause you don't want to miss out.
I'm in taiwan. It doesn't work for me.
I'm in taiwan with a 6ogb NTSC ps3 and when I run the demo it just plays the Playstation splash screen and stays black.

Still they make good games and I think bluray was a good decision. It's forward thinking and I'm glad I have it. Basically I'm safeguarded from being funked buy the "HDDVD vs. Bluray WAR" because even if bluray doesn't win, my bluray player isn't obsolite. I also think that although sony has a lot invested in the bluray format, the ps3 gives them a perfect digital distrobution base as well. (as long as it sells well)

Can't you just push the xbox button and then press Y? That's what I do to get back to the dash straight from a game.
Agreed, though, the Point marketplace system is LAME.
That is what they've been hyping with LBP and singstar. lol. It really is the wait station! I just hope the 40% failure rate isn't true or widespread. If everyone's PS3 360 on em' its gonna become a dreamcast.
