Wow... My heart really sank when I read the IGN article. After pumping you up with all the details, the spat in your face on the second last paragraph!
Good thing they're wrong.
Same kind of complaints here. Not much is new. Still picking this one up day one.
I hope this is awesome. I'm really hoping this isn't repetitive like AC and FC2 as well.
Agree on all counts except the reload thing. As unrealistic as it is, we all know the purpose is the same as the rest of the controls. Still awesome - day one buy.
Still stiffer than American third person shooters like Gears. Not that it's a bad thing, I like RE5 a lot. But the change of control from MGS3 to 4 and RE3 to 4 is pretty comparable in scale.
You must know that's BS. If you played RE4 you would know the controls are nearly the same.
The game is Japanese people! How can you guys expect quick and intuitive action-shooter controls from the culture of MGS, FF, etc?
I don't see the point of third person shooters at all if ease of use is your argument. Imagine if every Xbox shooter played like Halo, and every PC shooter played like Counter-Strike! We could all circle strafe, bunny hop, and headshot every damn zombie before they came within 30 feet of us!
Clunky and restrictive controls are inherent...
X to crouch? No thanks. More games need to have fully programmable buttons like The Orange Box. It is so much easier to enjoy a game when you are already accustomed to the controls right away.
They dont seem to happy about the "Halo" theme. That is my a big draw to the game for me! I already know what the units are like etc. Plus a good dev at the helm... What's not to like?
Looking good. They better not wait long after Halo Wars to put it on the Marketplace.
He doesn't need to play KZ2 to know it is a solid FPS with excellent graphics, nothing more. It won't shatter anyone's expectations of the FPS genre like Half Life did, and it sure as hell won't ever be as popular as Halo. To disagree is to lie to yourself.
Anyways, on topic Empire likely had their review canned because of the embargo. Reviews shouldn't be out for a while anyway.
Many of the criticisms this game receives are laughable. Running and shooting would break the entire structure of gameplay. The only criticism that I can think of is the item switch menu.
Is is a good game. Slo-mo explosions FTW. The pipe bursting trick startled me pretty good too!
This game is awesome with a friend. And the controls are just fine, they take ten minutes to get used to.
They restrict your movement just like RE4. It's simply there to prevent running and gunning and encourages teamwork. What wrong with that? I think if every shooter was First Person and had Halo controls; they would be much easier. That doesn't mean it's a good idea.
Really good game, and it's even better with a friend. I hope there are more in the way of destructible environments besides exploding barrels later in the game.
Far Cry 2 seems to win on Windows 7... That's cool.
Well that was terrible. Also, since when was the Microsoft voice a trademark of Zero Wing?
Not exactly, notice how they won't borrow out M rated games. Still a huge blow if this goes mainstream though.
Recycled news from Bungie.net? Oh well.
They are really descriptive with their sound and gameplay articles.
It looks good. I really hope it's coming out at year's end.
