I see big thiings happening for Sony in 2008 and on.
They have managed to win the format war against Toshiba with their HD DVD technology.

By offering people the best in HDTV's and movies they are giving people a early heads up about what the PS3 can do.

plans:
Develop the OLED HDTV's and discontinue the other models.
Upgrade both the PS3 and PSP with a frimware upgrade to the newer technology.
Upgrade the Blu-ray players to newer technology.
Once you put all of this together this will slaughter the Xbox forever.
Upgrade games to higher resolution.
This way Sony is strong in all areas.

That year wasn't exactly that bad they still had games to offer just not that much compared to the 360. Things are beginning to change as well as developers rapidly switching to the PS3 format for technology in games.

Blu-ray is the main format used upon more than 70% of the movie industry.
Only two companies other than MS support this format exclusively and that's Dream Works and Paramount.
Blu-ray also has more variety than HD DVD by a lot.
7 out of 10 box hit movies have went to Blu-ray compared to 3 to HD DVD.
Sorry Toshiba but transformers isn't enough to keep you in this competition....
I think what's really messed up about the system of buying an HDTV is that they don't give you everything in the box.

They don't really give enough options for consumers I know I bought one for my PS3.
Some people think it's stressful to purchase an HDTV because you have to spend hours deciding upon price, size, and picture quality.

I agree that the Dreamcast was a really good console and ahead of it's time at the beginning but once something new and better comes out that product becomes worthless.
Then again Sega was bought out by MS early which is why the Xbox came out. I also think this is what contributed most to MS getting the lead on online technology that is until Home and PlayTV comes out on the PS3.
