A 5 represents half the expectation of the reviewer (at least to me) in what the game should be. If the reviewer has low expectations and gets something slightly better then he will give it a high score even though it may not be worth it and if he was expecting something great but then let down a bit the score suffers. Good examples for me are AC2 and FF...
got it for pc with max settings (dx10 though) and it looks great but not the best graphics ever or anything like that and i doubt the x360 version looks as good though it will still impress(Crysis killer?...not even close)
Game in a hour or so gameplay not bad, I certainly don't see a sub 7 score. Maybe a 7.5-8.

GTA 3 not san andreas was the best sequel ever in a game. The difference between gta 2 and gta 3 is a lot more than San Andreas
Mario 64 was more of a great sequel than Sunshine in its amazing revolution and gameplay.
Halo 3 probably should not make the list...not much in revolution in the game from 2(i think)
Half Life 2 should also be there with the crazy good graphics and phys...
stupid marketing plan by Sega will leave any sequel for this or Yakuza 4 in trouble as there will be low sales...Put it up against FFXIII and GOW3 dumb.
half life is my favorite really was the greatest.
Unreal Tournament also sucked away a lot of hours
and DOOM still remember the cheat codes
First playthrough was without the first patch and no problems. Second playthrough was with the first patch and had some freezing. Hopefully now the game will run flawless though since i have the platinum now its kinda too late for me :(
wow its hard to believe these people are reviewers i've been playing the game over 20 hours on chapter 9 and cannot see what deserves a 6 in this game.
The graphics sometimes make you stop and wonder if you're watching CG, The voices are all great(surprisingly since i usually don't like English JRPG games) even the supposed annoying Vanille is not that bad,

definitely not crysis level i see the similarities to fallout though with better texture resolution.
really loved this game everyone should at least try it. Granted some will not like it but just like demon's souls it draws you in.

seems like he was talking about the layoffs at ign in general not himself. Makes no sense to sack a senior editor with years experience instead of someone lower on the scale so i say this has been taken out of context.
there wasn't a podcast beyond last week because the team was at GDC they said so. Plus are they sure he was let go i mean the tweet did not say that he was laid off just lay-offs are bad but who knows until official word.
shadow hearts is definitely one of my favorite games ever and it seems like Sega is still failing at marketing.

with all the reviews coming that the game was linear linear linear. I was bracing myself for a bit of a letdown and so when i got it I must say it really is an amazing game. Even with the 8-9 scores very underrated IMHO.

MAG, Resistance 1& 2, Uncharted 2, Killzone 2 these are online games that are great also so why do we need to pay to get great online games when they are already there. Also whats the big uproar with cross game chat sure it will be great to have but why is it the be all end all of the PSN wishlist now ?
