when GOW1 was first released to be put into the situation of fighting the hydra head as pretty much your first enemy and then the actual boss using the environment was definitely a defining moment in the series as was it amazing in size(at the time).
Cronus also gets a mention for the insane scope of the battle. Loved hades especially chain room attack looked and played great.
i think the better statement is that it "refined" action games as it took the concept and created an amazing experience.
And that comment about because it was released on one platform is dumb. Best games of any genre are usually shown by exclusives when the developer focus all their time and effort into maximizing a single system potential instead of limiting their potential to multiple platforms standard.

i love how the guy is ragging on the game when he hasn't even played it to completion even once. Sure there are plot holes but its better than 90% of the crap stories out there. when will people just shut up and enjoy a game instead of only pointing out the negatives. faakkee if you do a april fools joke exactly on the 1st its kinda easy to spot but build up to it a few days before and it gets a bit of realism. BTW this article is a bad fake in everything as it completely contradicts what sony said just recently about the psn being good as it is right now.
April 1st a crappy update..c'mon of course its a bad joke. Sony already said it had no plans to remove other OS. April fools apparently comes early and the update number 3.21 doesn't even make sens it hasn't even got a 3.20 so ignore it its an April fools "joke" but not a very good one.

when in the dark your eyes adjust to see atleast silhouettes of movement so when someone is facing sam as he takes down an enemy its hard to believe that he could not spot him a few feet away even if he makes no sound.

sigh...worst comparison ever....not even the same league...hell not even the same sport as far as I'm concerned. Crysis was and still after 2 years the benchmark for graphics. If Reach cannot even compete with Crysis 1 how the hell can you compare it to Crysis 2
played the japanese demo (took a while to understand what to do i don't speak or read Japanese) but i thought the battle system was great everything else though (except the humour and customization) didn't appeal to me. Maybe when it drops in price i'll consider it. Till then i have FFXIII to beat.
played the demo but the combat seems off and he takes a million shots to die but other than that it was fun, don't know how long the stunts and kills will keep me busy but i'll probably pick this up when it gets a bit on the cheap side.
(if you but 'BIT' and' CHeap' together it gets flagged as an offensive word lol)

the FFXIII exclusivity in japan was a square enix thing not sony as the install base of x360s in japan is borderline none...not to mention no japanese person is going to play it on a 360 when they have a ps3 as choice.
Don't know about the ghostbuster thing but you can be sure Sony won't do a dumb move like play a crap load of money for a couple months exclusive take the GTA4 addons, its coming to ps3 and pc soon while microsoft paid a lot for a few months. ...
actually splinter cell is not exclusive to the x360 its on pc also...just for the record :)
i agree with what you're saying but one concern with me and the 360 is that while it can compare graphically with the ps3 the dvd limitations may result in a bit of compromise in the game.
Of course there are multiple discs but when you hear that it was 35 or so GB to created GOW3 then it makes you wonder if they can pull it of with a max 20.4 GB (6.8gb per disc) over 3 discs and most developers will try not to use multiple discs.
