Still has a while to go to get there. What I am happy is Nintendo being rewarded for creating something new and taking chances.
Hopefully between the success of this and Toads Tracker Nintendo will greenlight more ideas.
The guys seemed on the younger side when showing off Splatoon at E3 last year. Fresh talent with a Nintendo willing to take risks. They could have easily taken the idea and given it the Mario coat of paint.
I am not certain why Nintendo chose the 2 map approach. It has never really bothered me though. How the matches go is always quite varied and doesn't get tiring. One issue that does pop up from this approach is that there are times when you play the same level 4 matches in a row.
The one thing is games have not increased in price to mitigate inflation or the increase in development costs. Prices have been set since 05-06 when the previous generation launched.
DLC is one way to keep new game prices at the level they are currently at. I don't mind if a portion of gamers are somewhat subaidzing the price for gamers. Assuming there continues to be quality for the $60 entry.
Yes, not enough time to justify going back.
Keep that player base growing. Hopefully with the trickle out plan, the base remains or at least doesn't shrink substantially.
I got into the one more game loop last night about an hour after I meant to.
You will have a bit of a wait for a sequel at least given the fact that they will trickle out content over the next few months. Not to mention Nintendo's typical 1 game a generation for none Mario(Platformers) and Zelda games.
I like my Wii U and has some of the best exclusives this gen or in a few gens for Nintendo home console's. At this point their biggest franchises have been launched. If you think Zelda will save then google Zelda sales.
TP was the last to sell over 5. That was across 2 systems and had the benefit of being a launch game(also TP hack).
Love Zelda buy everyone but Wii U might not beat GameCube. At least they are giving the faithful quality games and again se...
I agree completely but once I get 3 friends to them up and play I will be chatting, whether it is Google, Skype, Xbox live or PlayStation.
Even then its not the biggest deal. More maps, weapons, gear and modes will keep me happy.
Some not all, especially ones that are not the big ones. Pokemon, Mario, smash, kart and crossing.
Even Zelda hasn't moved a ton in Japan in close to a decade. We shall see and I hope for the best but look at those Mario Party sales there.
Impressive first week. Question is will it have legs or fizzle out. I am enjoying this game tremendously. Nice to see that the scarcity that was reported was after close to 150k were sold.
If graphical leap is your term of being creative then consoles have never been creative. When it wasn't the arcade counter parts it is the PC market.
Artstyle is creative for sure. Nintendo will always do their thing.
I only ever use it with friends Then again there are ways around that.
That is my only issue when the friends teams start in august a portion will use other means and will have a competitive advantage.
It is certainly weird that the stage was not released originally unless it is exclusive for splat zones.
At least they aren't charging and its only been out for 4 days.
I am completely hooked on the game. Love the ever changing tide feeling of the game.
I could do without those damn sisters every time I jump in.
I will admit the lack of modes and levels is disappointing, but at the moment it hasn't diminished the fun I have had.
Wish they would make another one.
I wish they would have just given us a day, hell a few hours would suffice.
$60 but with a big DLC drop come August. I agree what is offered day 1 seems a bit small for $60 but the added material down the road seems fair.
Me personally I'd rather have it now with added free content down the road then wait until August.
I'm really surprised Microsoft hasn't dug up Mechassault again. That game could be awesome.
Ehh don't see the big deal to be honest, I bought a few and they are not my thing.
The entire single player is completely playable, the amiibos simply give additional gameplay for those who opt in.
Would I like the additional content be in the game? Of course, but what people are assuming is that if Amiibos didn't exist this content would.
That is of course is the chicken and the egg situation. To which we do not know the true answer....
