While I don't believe in the future extinction of game consoles, I am interested in his idea for cross-platform "everything" such as multiplayer. Publishers collaborating so you can play with or against friends regardless of platform.

Well it's an opinion piece. Stemming from recent news - not necessarily gaming related - but something as I as a gamer am worried about its possibility.

Granted, I am no computer engineer who understands all the systems behind it as @cgoodno's enlightening comment does.

But it's my opinion, and while the technical aspects behind the Sony Pictures' hack may not occur in a a similar manner (were something to happen to PSN), I feel that Sony does...

I never said info was leaked FROM PSN, just by their servers - that's fact.

Also, I'm not fishing for something to write about - it's a valid concern. If a major Hollywood studio can be hacked, then it's possible PSN can be hacked (and it already has previously).

Just wondering, but why should it be let go? If hackers can hack into Sony Pictures studio and release nearly 50,000 SSNs, alongside other pieces of sensitive info, would it be so ridiculous for something similar to occur to PSN?

Especially since PSN's 2011 month-long outage.

That's true. I think it'd be interesting to watch a professional tournament of it.

It's amusing that nudity is an armor set. If it were to have some type of buff, I'm wondering what it might be,,,+2 to Confidence?

Free is free, doesn't mean it has to be good. But it's free, haha.

It's pretty much "free" to play, but you've got to pay to win.

Hahaha. There are some games with F2P models that work fairly well, but for the most part (especially in mobile games, etc), both the business model and content quality is less than stellar.

While the issue may be rare, word of mouth news spreads quickly, most likely causing Wii U owners to become paranoid of the possibility of it happening to their system.

I agree, SSB and Bayo 2 got many more people to buy a Wii U, therefore increasing the chances of getting either error code.

Honestly, I'd be so pissed if I received either of those error codes, causing my Wii U to lose system functionality.

I need my SSB. And my Bayo 2. And my Mario Kart 8.

Apparently so, haha. Target knows no bounds.

I think it's more to do with the fact they're fearing other Australian retailers will follow suit. Not sure how viable a possibility that is, but it's there nonetheless.

There was some controversy due to the new-gen iteration's first-person perspective, I assume that was Australian women's breaking point.

It's surprising that Target succumbed so quickly to the petition's demands. I'm not from Australia, but I know their censorshop laws are a bit more stringent than other countries.

I think many are missing the points. In normal circumstances, it would be ridiculous to ask for a rebate equivalent to what is considered a normal price drop just because one bought a product early..

That is not the case, the game is the same price, those who buy it new digitally just get 15,000 Xbox Live Rewards credit, which is equivalent to around $15. However, "early adopters," those who bought it at launch - who were promised compensation for 343i's failure...

It's not that they're getting mad that it's cheaper, it's that people who buy the game now essentially get money back, a rebate, while those Halo faithful who bought it at launch who were promised compensation 1) aren't eligible for the promotion 2) haven't been told of how exactly Microsoft or 343 plans to do so.

I don't even have an Xbox One, but If I did and bought TMCC at launch, given the circumstances, I think I'd be a bit frustrated.

I think the main issue many are having with it is the fact that Microsoft and 343i stated they were going to "make this right" (in regards to the Master Chief Collection's issues and arguable broken launch) and compensate those who purchased it in some currently unannounced manner.

And then they turn around and offer up this promotion (which doesn't retroactively apply), which is understandably irking most of those who bought the game early or at launch.

Yeah, apparently it's a bug (the auto-centering), but as someone already said, I hope it gets further improvements to it. It looks really good as it is.

Just tried using this in my game, and it works surprisingly well. Gives a distinctly different feel to the experience for sure. Also, the scenic vistas are a bonus.
