There's another thing to consider is what they actually say, there is no plan. Meaning they have a plan for the near/mid term future of what projects they will work on and have all their resources allocated to those.
It takes them 6 months to localise their Yakuza games now, before was 1 year at least.
They have Judgement just released in japan, localising it for the west.
The have Shin Yakuza or Yakuza 7 what ever it will be called

Also 49% of sales were on the switch, which has only a third of users as PS4.

I think you are right about the back compat. There are other games on the service than those you mentioned. You get a 10 hour trial of their new releases. You also get a 10% discount on EA games with the subscription.
It costs about £20 or so in the UK for 1 year.
Of, course it is up to each individual if they think it is worth it for them.
Especially considering you get 10% discount with EA Access.
