I used to be a big fan of HL but I was kind of disappointed in HL2. Its a solid shooter, don't get me wrong, but in this day and age games need to be more than that. Plus the gravity gun gets old after awhile.

MGS4 is unlike any MGS that has come b4. It is pretty much an open world. There are multiple paths you can take to complete your objectives. Kojima didn't just add on to what was already there, he actually created new concepts.

360 after 2 yrs. = 9 million
PS3 after 1 1/2 yrs. = 12 million

We aren't even two years into the PS3 and it has sold around 12mil. In two years 360 only managed to sale 9mil. That is a significant disparity when you consider the PS3 has 5 months to go b4 it hits the 2 yr mark. Then you have to factor in all the markets in Europe and Asia that the 360 is failing hands down. A lot of these regions the Xbox360 retails for cheaper than the Wii! They are selling them at a loss and they still can compete w/ PS3.

But Halo 3 is a failure on all fronts. This game is the Hack n Slash of FPS. There is nothing wrong with sticking to "core gameplay elements" but for the love of god innovate something. Halo3 is roughly the same experience as Halo2.

Graphics aren't all about colors. Personally, I think Halo3 looks tacky because the colors are too bright. Everything is a perfect shiny hue. If anything, Halo3 would look better with a darker color pallet. Your characters wouldn't look like plastic army men.

When you look at how much raw data has been processed by PS3's w/ Folding@Home the numbers are pretty astonishing. They estimate that it would take 250,000 pcs to process what it takes 10,000 ps3s to process. Now, you take that kind of performance and you apply it to a game and the results will be unlike anything we have ever seen.

MGS is a lot more mature. It has always had a captivating storyline. Halo3 is for brats. They took the plot staight out of a cheesy paperback in the bargain bin at a used book store.

I am not one for blind devotion like some of the other fanboys on this page. If a game fails, no matter how much I like the franchise, I still agknowledge it. A true fan sees something even for its flaws.
That being said, anyone who says Halo 3 was revolutionary needs to get their head checked. This is the same game we've been playing for years now, just repackaged.

Alot of ppl get offended when this game is attacked by the media, but some of it is warranted. You have to admit that the cartoony graphics are geared toward children. A majority of people who play this game are probably going to be under the age of 12.
I always thought the immature nature of this game appealed more to the younger generation anyways. The novelty of reaking havoc in an open world wears thin after a few hrs. As an older gamer I need more substance from a game.

Wow, you are misinformed. The new Red Faction:Guerilla game will put Gears of War and Halo to shame. It has the most realistic destructable environments in a game to date thanks to their geomod engine, it has vehicles, it's a futuristic FPS that is in the 3rd Person, and the graphics look just as good if not better than Gears.

There are like a dozen of 3rd person shooters releasing in the next year or so that will put gears to shame - Damnation, Socom: Confrontation, RED FACTION.
Not to mention Epic only signed a 2 game deal w/ MS for Gears, it is highly likely that the next sequel will be MP.
