I don't think DICE are the guys that are going to be first out the gate to show "next gen" off.
I see them more like Epic in that they are producing an engine intended for wide use across all (EA) games and thus aiming for the middle road.
First parties are the ones you should look toward, and I think all sony's first party are confirmed 1080p.
60fps is another story, but these machines haven't even released yet.
I'd give that time...
Though I agree the ps4 won't have the best looking graphics for 8 years, it's still pushing technology towards HSA which isn't in a $800 machine. Plus that machine isn't going to be catered to like the ps4 so assuming you're buying this mythical machine today, it'll still perform WORSE because its un-mature technology and maturation will come when you give AMD/nVidia more money.

It's pretty known that, when a game is coming out simultaneously across the platforms, pc does the worst.
I mean look at bf3 sales.
As much as it's hailed as the best looking pc game and the stuff consoles can only dream of, 360 sold the most copies of that game, followed closely by PS3, and lagging far behind was pc sales.

I remember, after just buying and upgrading my then 5 year old pc back in 2010.
Looking at God of War 3 and being like "Hot damn, a game this good looking is coming out on this old ass hardware I bought for $600.

Not really, no. No optimization in your pc. Just raw power. And you don't know what new tricks will come up in the next gen based off of the consoles HSA arch. Also, I don't have a quad core cpu. You gonna give me a free one? Is there a quad core cpu tree somewhere?

It's silly to cater your engine to the smallest part of your market share.

I personally find myself memorizing and executing the cheat to lower my wanted level anytime i have an "accident" and slaughter a bunch of people.
I'm much more focused on the story this time around than I was with 2-4.
I think the author has a point in that GTA V's chase mechanics are such that going off on a wanton rampage for hours and then putting the game down isn't how you play the game anymore.

whatever man this was awesome! I totally didn't expect them to be as even keeled as they were. I don't watch this show normally, but this has some good insight from outsiders and/or mother's perspective. Plus Whoopi plays Diablo. That's pretty damn cool. Good answer too. If GTA is too hot to handle, why not go with a game where you KNOW the enemies are the really bad guys?

There really has been a lot of focus on this single franchise. I personally was burnt out after 2 and for me I'd love to see something new from ND. TLoU was superb. Doesn't mean I need TLoU2. I have faith they can make a new IP and still be great.
Plus that's just naughty dog. They aren't sony's only studio. Plenty of other sequels to harp about. I guess what I'm saying is; pls don't make them make another Uncharted. that is all.

If the video in OP is to believe, it's certainly a possibility. If we assume for a second that all this stuff will just work, it could just be another avenue for the current youtube personalities. I imagine the best will raise to the top, and these guys have already been vetted. The tools/foundation does seem to be there.

I've said this before, but I still think about fighting game tournaments and how every match potentially could be streamed/archived now, not just "poverty streams" where we get what the people there can give. I really REALLY hope it all works out. Sooner rather than later.

Absolutely! I think that's the main reason GTAIV (and soon to be V) went more realistic compared to 3. I don't think gore will go away either, but it could become a genre much like horror or thriller movies today. "Kill shit and stuff" might become a thing of the past. Imagine if Diablo 3 looked like that (or just looked like its FMVs).
It's not free money. They had to devote time and resources to making a console port. It takes servers to run the game online. Plus Blizz is obviously a PC centric company. I think there's a lil more here than "free" money.

First off let me just say the title is hyperbolic as all get out.
The current thing that makes me think PC gaming is in trouble: Diablo 3 on consoles. Made by Blizzard. Why does this exist? Why is Blizzard of all companies now porting to consoles? It's not like it didn't sell.

I think it's at least a little interesting Sony aren't releasing in Japan first as historically they always release in Japan first. Is Japan's mobile mrkt bigger than America's' pc gaming market?
Because I know both are huge, and even if theirs is a little bigger, PC gaming cuts into the console market more directly imo. And Mobile gaming is a big deal here as well. Even so, we're still super excited over here about it, I'm sure t...
