They will spend money on anything BUT making games. How they survived this long without investing in their own systems and yet STILL have fans that defend them at every turn is nothing short of amazing. It truly is mind boggling.
And yet you spend over 60 billion to attempt to buy a publisher. That’s after buying another publisher for 7.5 billion. Over 70 billion in attempted/completed purchases of established publishers that could have been incrementally spent on investing in XBOX and its fanbase. That’s 5 BILLION a year for 12 years they could have spent to improve Xbox and the gaming division, yet they didn’t.

The thing is PlayStation invested in them enough to take a risk on a new IP. Sony invest in teams to bring fresh and original ideas. Sometimes it doesn’t work out, but none of them are unemployed. They just fall into other teams as they were really small. Indie like. Investing millions into a dumpster fire….. now that’s a problem.
It’s this mindset that causes Xbox fans to go ballistic when a single mediocre title is announced or released. They’ve been “running out of time” since the day the 360 stopped being supported. Xbox has fans that spin better than any PR person possibly could and will support any and all endeavors. It isn’t going anywhere. Microsoft is definitely trying to move away from consoles and into maybe a media box cloud future. They couldn’t care less about the industry or gaming. Not going to lie, I did a media blackout for this game. A little thrown off that it is essentially an expansion pack. I’m so used to the games being entirely different in the Zelda series. This should be called Breath of the wild: Future. Maybe Breath of the wild 2. Excellent game and all but strong with the been there doing that feel. Personally I’m thinking 8 or 8.5. Maybe that’ll change.
