Neither PSN nor Xbox Live requires you to check up periodically. If you have a subscription for a year, you can play their content for the duration of that year, no matter if you never log in. It will only ask to authenticate online once the subscription period ends, to check if you've renewed the subscription or not.

You know, the way that makes sense. Nintendo deserves all the shit they're getting for this, it's stupid as hell. Don't even get me started wi...

Honestly, if you pay for a month, the online network should aknowledge that your system is subscribed for a month, and not ask you to log in once a week to verify. It's really as simple as that, and that's how it works on PS4 and Xbox One, I think.

Let alone a year... if you pay for a year subscription, why the need to verify weekly? Just register your console in the network data as a console with a one-year-subscription active.

What's troubling is your post.

No, there are no justifications at all.

Cloud saves are system wide on the other consoles. No reason this can't be applied on Switch as well.

Same can be said about the SNES, though.

Indies =/= shovelware.

The majority of indie games on Switch actually range from decent to awesome. Yes, there's also a fair share of shitty games, but it's not any different from the stores on PS4 and Xbox One. Don't even get me started on Steam...

Jesus, tone down that toxicity. You make us Nintendo fans look bad.

True, and I made a point about that as well, but the "they're not always behind" defense falls flat when the last time Nintendo launched a console comparable in specs to the competition was 16 years ago. Nowadays, it's completely valid to make the claim that Nintendo consoles are always behind the competition, because they are by modern standards. That doesn't mean it's inexcusable because they have a different focus. The Switch's specs are just fine if we look a...

What you say is true, but you aren't mentioning the reason behind this particular power difference: form factor.

Or can you play your Xbox One / PS4 on the go like you can with the Switch? Last I checked, they were about 8x the size of the Switch, if not bigger. Lol. Of course they are much more powerful (or better said, of course the Switch is much less powerful despite it being a much newer device. Its form factor indicates its performance).

A Switch revision moderately faster than a base PS4 / Xbox One isn't going to happen, either.

If Nintendo makes a Switch redesign (which can happen), it can be slightly more powerful than the current model of the Switch for sure (like DSi was more powerful than DS, or New 3DS is more powerful than 3DS), but it will still be a marginal power increment. Nothing close to XBox One levels. By that point, it would be a sucessor to the Switch, not a slightly upgraded version. ...

To be fair, almost everyone thought the Vita was going to beat the 3DS to a bloody pulp before its release. Hype was through the roof for that machine, Sony had just announced it would be priced at $250 (the same price the 3DS was at that time), the 3DS's sales hadn't taken off by that point, and the Vita's predecessor, the PSP, had sold around 80 million units, which is the highest sales for a non-Nintendo handheld ever. The launch lineup looked promising, too, with Uncharted: Go...

It may be possible, if the engine is scalable to allow for it. After all, Paladins runs pretty damn well on the Switch, and it's the same kind of game (although admittedly Paladins has always been way simpler graphically than OW). They would just have to tone down the graphics and effects enough for it to run at a stable 60fps, which is a must.

Nope, it also depends on the game engine and how scalable it is. You can't just make blanket statements like that.
