Props to Microsoft for bringing something like this to the table.
BUT.
I want to see how they're going to be using it and how big an impact it's going to have.
Why are people bothered about innovation in a hack-and-slash.
Seriously now, yeah they may let you swing from Harpy to Harpy like this review picked up on but nobody is buying it for that.
They're buying it because in the past two games it was Kratos knocking the f-ck out of Greek Mythology and they want more of the same.
I wanted a warzone and they promised a warzone.
I'm overlooking "pretty good" graphics for gameplay.
Everything else is secondary IMO.
Edit :
And that's all I want.
A warzone with objectives, loads of people and a decent level of weapons and/or customisation.
I don't need 3 million types of land sea and air vehicles or Killzone 2 graphics just addictive fun.
As long as it isn't laggy on release this is a day one for me.
Good things, come to those who wait.
That's how long it took from Forza 3 being announced, for Gran Turismo to take its crown back.
I had a conversation with a friend yesterday about this.
Friend - isn't E3 on today?
Me - Yeah God of War III has just been shown
Friend - God of War III?
Me - basically, think of the angriest man in the world doing the angriest things you could think of and that's God of War III
Other friend wanders in..
Friend #2 - What're you talking about?
Friend - Some game where you play as the angriest man in existance that I need to play.
Fr...
I was shocked by how utterly real GT5 looked when I first saw it.
Forza, whilst still looking great has that baby-oiled look that kinda puts me off.
It paves the way for even greater games in the future.
There is no such thing as a bad invention, just a bad use of it.
You need a PS3 to play it.
Not going to beg and plead for it,if someone asked for it first I'm willing to pass on it.
Anyone has one spare after that? Throw me a PM.
Quite alot of interface but I always find it easy to block out, after playing Resistance 2 multiplayer I know instinctively keep one eye on the mini-map at all times.
With a game that has the potential to be bags of fun and loaded with epicness I can quite easily ignore what it lacks in graphics, and I don't think anyone can deny that it still looks pretty slick for the amount of action.
Will put back on for Uncharted 2 beta.
Lost Planet 2 looks good, but I'll have to see more of it before I decide whether it's a purchase or not.
God Of War was fantastic in all its full-on savage glory.
Uncharted to me is Tomb Raiders successor in the action/adventure department.
Haven't seen MAG or Mass Effect yet,I have high hopes for both but i'll take it with a pinch of salt until I hunt down a video.
Gran Turismo looked fantastic, but they really do have competition now with the brilliance of Forza.
Heavy Rain and Alan Wake, both interesting and great looking titles.
MGS Rising doesn't interest me nor ...
Tomb Raider's successor confirmed.
Even the camera angles looked perfect.
In the economic downturn it doesn't make sense to hold onto loyalty more than keeping your business afloat.
Jobs are at stake.
Business's could close.
This is more important than "loyalty" towards a certain console maker.
I'm all for multiplatform third party games, anything that keeps the companies who keep making these great games secure and appreciated for the following years is good in my books.
I'm not seeing God of War on that list.
I'm not seeing Ratchet and Clank on that list.
I'm not seeing Uncharted on that list.
I'm not seeing Gran Turismo on that list.
I'm not seeing Motorstorm on that list.
I'm not seeing killzone on that list.
I'm not seeing Resistance on that list.
Edit - I'm not seeing InFAMOUS on that list.
It's odd how perfectly that mask and Raidens face fits.
The nose, eye placement and even the lower jaw with the cracks through the lips match Raidens lower jaw metal.
Plus with the slash through the right eye hints at blindeness, and Raiden was wearing a sash over the right eye in the video.
It's fun and all but, feels a little tacked on.
Co-Op is BRILLIANT.
