That's fair regarding the fact its new IP but its still a weak excuse to hate on or be critical of the game for, my point is originality is pretty rare in gaming at this point and if they're going to complain about that in this case than these "journalists" need to be consistent and complain about it across the board, but we all know they wont.
@SenorFartCushion
No I dont think I will calm down, you sound like a hater that's mad people are really enjoy a great game. I wish I worked for Ember Labs that would be awesome.
Definitely, I'm absolutely loving the game so far and clearly a lot of reviewers are as well.
Its really fantastic you should definitely check it out.
100% people are really loving this amazing game.
That's high praise and well deserved.
Since you're following me around all bitter and angrily commenting at me with your alt troll account you apparently have nothing better to do with your life. Enjoy it while it lasts bud.
Enjoy your alt troll account while it lasts bud.
$39.99 is very reasonable for this great game.
You've pointed out the very problem with the originality complaint, very few games are original anymore yet this excuse gets pulled out rather conveniently when certain outlets want to use it to criticize and give a poor review. There's no consistency not that that's surprising at all when it comes to biased game "journalists" but if we're going to complain about originality here than we should hear this same BS excuse for almost any game review and we don't.
Is everyone at eurogamer depressed hateful people mad at the world? Too bad their game reviews aren't original its always this same monotonous drivel from them.
And had he been running the recommend requirements suggested by the developer it would have most likely continued to run fine. Jin_Saki is right its not the games fault the reviewer can't follow instructions.
So we give terrible scores to "conventional" games now? Man there's a lot of games that are going to get terrible scores from pcgamer in the coming months. Nothing wrong with a game having a familiar feel, in a lot of ways it hearkens back to those classic action adventure games from the past many of us are still so fond of. If this is the kind of garbage game journalist reviewing we can expect from now on than we would all be better of without it.
Well if we're going to complain and give low scores based on the "you've played this game before" scenario then polygon better be ready to hand out a low score for Halo Infinite as well. This is a piss poor excuse to low ball a great game but I get it click revenue is probably low at polygon.
That's odd cause according to Metacritic there's nineteen positive reviews and zero mixed but ok I guess. As someone actually playing it I can assure you the game is amazing.
Been playing for a little bit now and I am blown away at what a fun and absolutely beautiful game this is. Ember Labs are definitely a very talented and creative developer, they would make a great addition to the Sony family, hopefully Sony makes them an offer.
Very cool for people who wanted a physical option. I prefer physical but I will grab a digital copy because I'm too impatient and want to play the game asap.
So they should just make the games you personally like and want? What about me and many like me that dont care for "its Japanese side"? Sony should make the games that sell like crazy and if those games happen to be Super Hero games then that's what they should make, pretty sure they'll still make other games too.
And gamepass isn't even close to Sony's exclusives so I guess we're even.
You can be bothered by my use of the word terrible if you want but the game is not a 6.5 out of 10 game, period. Its fine though the higher review scores shine a light on this and other obvious reviewers attempts to belittle the game. Up to 23 positive reviews on Metacritic now and sitting at a really great 84 so pcgamer's review has had no effect on the overall positivity for the game.
