No DLC should be paid. Either support your product for extended time, or don't. "DLC" was always released either as a free download, or in an update patch back in the early days of the internet. That's when gaming was far less popular.

Hardware engineers continuously work on reducing local processing latency, much less magnifying those numbers by great factors by having it stream through video over the net.
