I'm not defending disc locked content but I think people are stupid and don't actually understand how or why it's on there.

People assume all the DLC was already finished when the game was sent to be rated and finalized before it was printed, which isn't the case. There is usually about 2 months or so after the entire game is completed before the game actually goes gold and gets printed, which is all downtime the company has to start working on something new, ...

Sigh, as I feared.

"Aside from the story, what makes this game different from World of Warcraft?"

"The story"

Everything but the story in this game looks like generic crap, and it seems Bioware knows it. As much as I love Bioware games, I don't think they understand that story ENHANCES an MMO, it doesn't MAKE an MMO. They are banking way too much on the story and voice acting and filling in all the important stuff ...

It's Canada, they wont rot for that long.

Yay, now the reviewers will rate it higher, cause apparently the first one was "too long" to hold their dimwitted attention.

Man that chick's voice is annoying as shit. Game does look cool though.

I don't know. I think Blizzard takes a lot of time to make their games because they can. Look at StarCraft 2. 90% of it was cut and paste from a 12 year old game. There is no way in hell that game realistically would have taken that long to develop. I think it's a status thing. They like to dick around and waste time, saying "well first we tried this and then we tried this and then we tried this but in the end we realized it was fine the way it was so we kept it exactly the same ...

Good article, but it'll never happen. As much as I like and respect Stardock, they just don't have as big a name as Blizzard or Activision. Even if they make better games, they will never sell better, ever. Blizzard can sell games for the rest of time based on name alone.

Also, one last thing, WoW is not even close to the biggest online game ever created. It might be the most played in North America, but Americans need to get their heads out of their asses and reali...

It's probably not as big a deal as people make it out to be, but still, there's no rationalizing this. It is completely unnecessary.

@bringitson

Not really sure how you figure. The Old Republic will be huge and will only be on PC, Dragon Age was infinitely better on PC, as were the Mass Effect games (particularly the first) and PS3 doesn't and will never have the first Mass Effect, essentially making it pointless to play the series on PS3 if you actually care about the story and character choices whatsoever, which is the main focus of the game.

In fact, the only game Bioware has ever d...

Yeah, I liked the part where Marcus created the biotic warp field and summoned the combat droid and talked his way into an alien's pants.

Oh wait...

That would be stupid if it didn't. Release only the middle game of a trilogy? Then again, I don't really see the point of only releasing the second two either, but I guess their hands are tied.

I think this article is more to say that there might be an upcoming announcement of Mass Effect 3 period since I don't think it's actually been officially announced yet (though they've talked about it) which might suggest a trailer will be shown. Who knows.

I'm quite sure they are probably working on at least 3, if not 4 projects right now. I enjoyed the old Duke Nukem games at the time but I don't seem to hold a lot of nostalgia for them like some people do. I probably wont be checking this game out, but who knows. I'm interested to see what they do with Aliens since the last one was a bit of a disappointment, and more Borderlands would be good. Hopefully they take some hints from Firefall for the new one, add some more gear instead...

Not sure I see the point in making 3 if they could just provide ongoing support by adding new characters and maps.

These are the worst articles on this site. They add absolutely no value or insight on a game. All they do is promote fanboyism.

Oooooh I was going to get one a couple weeks ago, good thing I waited! Totally going to pick one of these up now.

The game is planned for release in a few weeks. There's no way they can fix all the beta issues by then, and I doubt they will even bother fixing many. A lot of the issues seem to be "decisions" that Square has actually made about the game, and they don't seem to be willing to budge on a lot of those. Shame, this game actually looked cool.
