Graphics and animation look amazing but so far those little arenas are all I've seen of this game. I hope there's more to it than that, otherwise it looks boring and I have no interest.

And yeah, this game is way better than Bayonetta. I love how people complain that this game does nothing new, but Uncharted 2 did nothing new either and it gets like perfect 10s and game of the year with no complaints that it does nothing new. Same with Modern Warfare 2, it does nothing new either. Who cares if it does nothing new? That's not a valid complaint.
This review contradicts every other review I've read. It's 10 against 1, so I'm going with the 10 glowing reviews. And sublime Bayonetta, lawl. That is the worst game I can remember playing.
Square? Best of the best? Haha maybe 10 years ago but they are pumping out pure sh*t now. I bet FF13 would score 2 points lower from everywhere if it was called anything but final fantasy.
It's because Bayonetta is a "bigger" and "more hyped" game. Hype = free pass. In most reviewers' eyes, triple A titles get better scores by default. If it's not AAA, it gets an automatic level of hate. I guarantee if this game was more hyped and considered AAA this review would be an 8 or 9, for the exact same game.
Um, there was another game that won almost every game of the year award in 2009 and didn't have one new idea in it. It was called Uncharted 2.

Are you serious? The PS3 had over twice as many triple A exclusives as 360 this year. Uncharted 2 was an overrated piece of crap that I regret buying. If that's the only game you played for PS3 this year, I feel sorry for you.
It's not just graphics, it's the fact that you can't look up, you hold your gun out straight in front of you and the gameplay is so primitive compared to modern day FPS. If you made a game exactly like Doom or Wolfenstein today, changing absolutely nothing but having Crysis level graphics, people would think it was a ridiculous joke. And how are TVs no different? Wow this is stupid. I hate how people always rate Doom and Wolfenstein as the best shooters of all time just because they were the originals. Were the original TVs better than the TVs now? Were the original cars better than the cars now? No. They are absolutely terrible compared to todays games in terms of graphics, gameplay, sound design, level design, controls, and so on. Why is it unexpected that someone wouldn't pick just another shooter like Modern Warfare 2 or Uncharted 2 which are exactly the same as games we've already played 50 times? Flower is one of the most innovative games this year, I'll give him that. Not my pick but my hat goes off to anyone who doesn't pick the obvious 2, which are absolutely nothing special.
Yes. Just look at all the crybabies from Co-op and Giant Bomb crying about how hard Demon's Souls is and how much it sucks because it doesn't hold your hand and blah blah blah and takes too long to learn. The sad thing is, people actually listen to these losers and end up missing out on one of the best games of this generation.
This game will sell more than past Team Ico games most likely. Word of mouth seems to have a big affect this generation since many more people seem to be playing games. Look at the sales of Demon's Souls and Borderlands because of word of mouth. Both sold significantly more than they expected to, and with more gamers growing up and being older than they were last generation, I'd say many people are looking for something more mature, and I don't mean boobies and blood.

I can say, in my opinion, those games are better than Uncharted 2, but I can't say, in my opinion, 3031 people are wrong? How is that any different? You just contradicted yourself.
The best RPGs are FPS? Did I read that right? Hardly. And how is BioShock at all like an RPG?
Then 3031 people would be wrong. Demon's Souls, Batman, Borderlands, Assassin's Creed 2, Killzone 2 and InFamous were all better than Uncharted 2.

Completely agree about 9 being the best. Story was cool, characters were awesome, and combat system was good, with a good addition of game mechanics that weren't around in other final fantasy games. Settings were the best out of any other that I can think of, and the music was great as well. It also had an "old school" final fantasy feel to it that the newer ones were lacking.
Who didn't see this coming? If Activision can get $70 a pop for a game, then charge another $15 a month from 8 million people, they are obviously going to try. They already started talking about monthly fees for Modern Warfare 2. I don't doubt for a second that they will be making an MMO, and I doubt it will be much more than what you're playing now, so enjoy the free gaming while you can cause Activision is hungry and will never have enough money to satisfy them.
