Being original in this market is very difficult, but innovating is not.

Most of these companies innovate an already original idea. That's what companies do, that's how they make money. They see their competitors do something and when it's a hit, think well how can i expand/make better that idea. And then they try to implement it. It's called progression, without it these companies would ultimately fail.

Take rumble for instance, that gyration patent is owned by I...

i would give you a bubble, but it won't allow me, it's still grayed out from the last time i gave you one. But that was a great post.

Competition is really why these consoles have evolved so much, can't wait for what the future brings.

Game on people....

yeah it was for pc, i'm just responding to your MS doesn't innovate anything. That was an original, which is what every company shoots for. Like i said, an innovation is an improvement on an original. Sixaxis is an innovation of the Sidewinder Freestyle Pro.

But does it matter if it was for PC, it could easily have been turned into a console controller. The point i'm making is that they had the original Motion Sensing Controller.

Well thanx for the apology, but MS and Sony haven't been original with most of what they do now. They have both innovated the gaming console market. To innovate means to improve on something available. So really all they have been doing is innovating, now if you are talking about being original, then both companies don't have a big list to choose from.

Oh and MS did have the first motion sensing controller, it was called the Sidewinder freestyle pro it was in 1998, here is a li...

before you start calling someone dumb or an idiot or whatever childish comment you can come up with next, let's see....

I said MS came with the first motion sensing controller, not nintendo

i then said that MS and SEGA pioneered "online console gaming" Which part of that did you miss?

And i guess ps2 was sony's first console otherwise your point about PS2 and dvd9 is moot. I said SEGA had the first CD based console experience. Did i say D...

Just how old are some of you, you think that Sony and nintendo innovated everything....

MS had the first motion sensing controller.

MS had the first controller with triggers.

HDMI is not needed for gaming, it's needed for movie playback and that was forced upon companies because the movie and media conglomerates mandated it, but it is not needed for Hi-Def gaming as MS clearly stated.

MS and Sega pioneered online console gaming.

i know Nickel does not need me to defend him, but he said nothing bad about R2 and in his defense this is what he posted a little over 2 hours ago about R2

"Well the story looks like it's going to stand out and be amazing and the graphics for this game looks really good compared to the 1st one. The game is going to be fun and I guess thats all that really matters. A day one purchase for me and no reason to compare this to other titles because it's pointless."

I was expecting a little bit more from the graphics because of the GameInformer screenshots that i saw earlier this year. I know Resistance weighed more heavily on gameplay than graphics the first time around, but from what all the fanboys were shouting in every Gears 2 post, it made me raise my expectations. I've seen the Gametrailers TV video, so i'm not just basing it off of this short video, i watched the whole thing. And R2 graphically doesn't impress me as Gears has.

And ...

who's in Denial.... name one company that doesn't the same things MS has done. I'm not condoning it, but every company wants to make a profit, and would try to shut down their competition. You are the one oblivious to reality.

So it's not O.K. for MS to do it, but it's o.k. for other companies because they are not as big as MS. Please, you wanna take that hypocritical nonsense elsewhere. Did MS hurt you in some way, were you one of the owners of a company they bought out or ju...

I have noticed recently that there is a slow influx of true gamers or at least logically minded people that are starting to come to this site. Hopefully their voice is not drowned out by the fanboy rhetoric. Great post my friend. A lot of things that go on about this site makes you question if these fanboys have stock interest in these companies, then i would understand their fanaticism, but unfortunately from some of the responses you can see that they are just mere children that enjoy thems...

here's another article

what he said was unnecessary. Live is the bigger offender because every 360 comes with headsets (why are you all trying to make it seem like that is a bad thing?). Live is not responsible for the people that abuse it. I can guarantee that if all PS3's came with headset and 360s didn't he and you would probably be singing a different tune. Not only tha...

but it's terribly buggy. I wish they would make a patch for it to work appropriately. i always loved MVC 1 for dreamcast, the XBox version was just as good, but you have to deal with the one flaw with the 360 controller, the D-Pad. I love everything about the 360 controller, except that one design flaw. But i do have the arcade stick, which has a better D-Pad, and is great for Live Arcade Games.

but everyone else that has said they have been playing the game have their gamertags on this site. You can easily see that they are playing NG2 and have achievments. But you on the other hand don't have anything. Why not take a brief second to supply your gamertag on the site so we can see that you have been playing NG2 and not on the easier setting.

Oh and another funny thing, is that these guys are "gamers" they have both or all 3 consoles and they don't mind talkin...

I have scene it for 360, but i think MS and EA has dropped the ball, because the game is great, but they haven't released any DLC for it.

And let's not forget the LIve Arcade, i'm sorry, but my friends kids love the Live Arcade games, especially the Sponge Bob Squarepants game and Sonic. They also love AstroPop and Bejewelled.

MS has made great strides to step away from the "Hardcore only" market and has made great casual games. And as far as VP recogni...

i would like to see some kind of cover mechanic. I'm so addicted to that play style now, it's hard for me to play these type of games that don't give you much cover.

The game was entertaining though, and the graphics are impressive, i like the texturing on the character models. It's also great to note that they used some great color saturation in the environments, no heavy use of the gray color palette.

I'll have to wait and see about this one, i'll probably be p...

It had all it's necessary components up and functioning. A lot of the features blu ray is touting now, hd-dvd already had them. It's a shame, the only difference between the two formats were the size. HD-DVD was the better format, because it was standardized and complete.

Let's see all HD-DVD players had to have onboard ram, ethernet ports, support internet access and updates, and etc....

I mean early adopters of blu ray are already getting screwed over, most of ...

the reason it's an issue is because the PS3 is suppose to be a console or is being touted as a game console. With a PC, you have always have had to install games, consoles were suppose to be plug and play. Simply put the game in and start playing immediately. Not this 4min, 5min, 20min install nonsense. I'm sure you could probably argue the benefits of installs, but they still don't have any place in the console gaming market. Let it be an option for those that want to utilize it, it's when t...

not only that, let's not forget that R:FoM was also bundled with the PS3 after a while. Many forget that. And another kicker is that Gears of War's price has not come down and has never been bundled in.

all you have to do is go into your friends list and hit "X" on each name. You don' have to open any new windows or anything, you just go down your list hitting "X" on whoever you want to invite.

That doesn't sound like it takes long to me. Let's see, hit dashboard button, click friends list, and go down list hitting "X".

Some games allow you to access your friends list through the game, like Halo 3. You can access your friends list j...

i kinda have to agree with CallofWar22 for what he said before he got flamy....

So many people do skip cutscenes, but if you have a 90 minute cutscene, the people who usually skip them because they can't sit through a movie within a game will miss out on the story. That's why some games wouldn't allow you to skip the cutscene. Some cutscenes are integral to the story, so for those that play the game and skip through them, they are not getting the full affect of the game.
