Depends on the JPrpg some aren't that grindy.

Tons of none fps games have hit 1 charts. Even arms did it for at least its opening week
I personally think n64 had much better games, mostly because of the masterpiece superman 64.
But still ps1 had many great games spyro and crash are what I mostly remember though. I probably played other games but that's all I remember.
