I agree, the franchise went downhill after The Last Revelation.
Every other scumbag wants that ad money.
Nostalgia for mid-80s to mid-90s games is a damn powerful drug! Imma get this on release. :)
If you have patience, and don't need games day one, you'll be fine with Radeon GPUs. I've never liked Nvidia for medium-high cards -- they're stingy on VRAM, too. A lot of their exclusive "features" are performance hogging -- lookin' at you fancy smoke for AC4.
Come on man, I want to see the red background in the MKII dead pool.
To meet new people you have to get out of your house first. This isn't what I consider "meeting" new people.
They turn a series known for it's impeccable story/voice acting into ftp pap. It's like the mmo flood all over again.
That hasn't really happened since Crysis back in '07. Most games actually run pretty well on mid-range PCs nowadays. I'm a novice when it comes to PC building, but my parts have been working more or less as they should. If you don't want to have a gaming PC, no problem, but don't make it seem like it's harder than it is.
This should have been the first post!
Shenmue was made for people with imagination and emotions. Sociopathic trolls need not apply.
The lighting(at night) is messed up in the XBOX version. It's still great, nonetheless, and better than never having played it.
A beautiful coming of age story that ended on a cliffhanger. Ryo and Shenhua are to stay forever in that damn ....
It was great being a kid and playing games like this. The ending song is very catchy, too.
I always get the itch to watch "The Wizard" when I think of SM3.
PC gamers have a lot more games to play. Also, an older audience tends to have more patience.
PC geeks are usually more tech savvy than you, is that why you hold them in contempt?
Edit: A lot of former console gamers moved over to PC(it's like building Legos) which allows them to play 3rd party games in exquisite quality. They also get to dabble in emulators, films, music, etc. You're missing out, brother.
Proper hardware like the SNES era + third party support like Sony/Microsoft will put Nintendo back on track. They are the best software house in the world, and us old-timers are waiting for their resurgence.
All I have to say is Jolly Roger Bay.
It's supposed to help with temporal aliasing, but I agree that the IQ suffers for it. I'm a rare breed that prefers clarity to AA.
I'm mostly interested in VR + cockpit view in racing games. It's OK to be skeptical about it, and you're right that compatible genres will be limited. Well, at least initially.
Assassin's Creed 3 and Sleeping Dogs are a little bit blurrier than I expect from 1920 x 1080, due to inability to disable FXAA. I don't know what version they were using(1?), but it is noticeable to me.
FROM were always great, all the way back to King's Field/Shadow Tower. Those games were dark fantasy and hard as hell, too. Only NOW with this pathetically easy generation do they get recognition.
