I believe star citizen acheived less than that on kickstarter, but continued getting funds through their own website. It's the highest crowdfunded game, but not exactly all on kickstarter.

The digital copy will eventually be available to everyone once the game is released, but you can reserve it now by backing the project. It's not exclusive to backers.
I agree that the number should be higher on the physical copy reward, but it took them a while to add that option. I guess people had already made their pledges for the digital copy and just didn't/couldn't up their pledge.
Dude, they haven't really started on the game yet. These videos look like they used the same models from the e3 reveal. It's just something to keep us excited. A year from now, if the game still looks like this, then be worried, but not now. Way too early to feel anything for real, man. Let's give it a year of development.

Yeah, that craziness won't happen again. I think a big part of the delay of those games was the knowledge of upcoming next gen consoles. Both the last guardian and ffXV transferred over. Hell, even kingdom hearts 3 was held back for that. Those guys must've been eager to boost the graphics and make those games better than to just release them as they were.
But there are no new consoles coming anytime soon, so i have faith that they're focused now. No excessive wai...

Oh i know what you mean. I will hold it to a certain standard as well. I'm sure the developers will too, considering how long they took to even decide on finally making it. But, as i said, i am open to it being its own thing. After watching the fights in advent children, i always felt it'd be interesting to play something similar and FFXV seems pretty close to that.

This is the first kickstarter i take part in and probably will be the only one, but i understand the kickstarter deal now. It's a risk, yes, but after 14 years of waiting for a game, obsessing over every rumor, being anxious at every e3, it's a risk i'm happy to take.
Hey man, if you want to play the old game again, play the old game again. I for one embrace change and am excited to see a FF15-style combat mechanic (or whatever they decide to do) along with this remake. Keyword, man! "Remake"! Embrace whatever it brings.
I like the FROM SOFTWARE approach lately, where they announce a game a bit under a year before release. Though for some games, you just have to tell me now! Let me know now that you're making it even if release date is a couple of years away just tell me you're making and don't mess with me
