That is such a crock of shit. That's like saying Titanfall is a Microsoft exclusive when it's available on Xbox One, PC and Xbox 360, but they're available on all three platforms so it loses the meaning of exclusivity. That's like saying Street Fighter V is a PS4 and PC exclusive. How is that an exclusive and why should I buy a PS4 if I can just download the game on Steam? Exclusive is just a marketing term that helps sell the game but it still doesn't make it exclusive. E...
It takes them three times longer to produce a AAA game because most AAA games are using fresh new in-house engines instead of pre-existing third party engines. Game engines take too much time and resources and cost too much money to produce. That was Square-Enix's main mistake this whole decade when they're spending too much of their time making pretty engines instead of working on a consistent gameplay.
Square-Enix has made a good cool switching over to Unreal Engine 4. Imagine how much time will it take them to develop the game with their in-house engine Luminous that is still being developed further with FFXV. I expected they would go with Unreal 4 since it makes total sense come to think of it. They tried to develop KH3 with Luminous before they switched to UE4 since it was taking too much time to process through the early stage of development and Nomura is happy with the decision they ma...
It's not an exclusive if the game is available on two platforms. Exclusive means that the game is limited to only one platform.
Unreal Engine 3 might be a mediocre engine but from what I'm hearing about Unreal 4 it's a very developer friendly engine, they had no complaints about it and it's a huge step compared to the previous engine. Game engines cost a lot of money to make. If they want to release FFVII as quickly as they can, they have to go with pre-existing engine, and the game will never be finished at that rate if Square-Enix sticks with their house-hold engine like Luminous when it's not eve co...
Their track record of empty promises shows their PR management needs a completely different shift. Ever since the FF7 tech demo a decade ago they were teasing the idea of the remake. It's either shit or get off the fucking pot. I'm surprised how confident they are about releasing this game this generation and they'd still give a directorial job to a guy who's still working on KH3 and gave away little to no update to a game he's been working for so many years until the othe...
I don't expect more than a concept trailer or concept sketches from them. They'll probably show us some 3D character models in an Unreal 4 or any other third party engine they're going to use (I doubt they'll be using the Luminous since that engine is being developed altogether with FFXV), they'll probably show us the concept battle system and that's it. I don't expect much from them since the game is far from its official release.
I wouldn't put too much trust on Amazon placeholder dates. The 2017 release for FF7 remake is most unlikely since we know nothing of the game besides the pretty CG trailer and even 2018 is a pretty optimistic guess. If Kingdom Hearts 3 was announced in 2013 and there's a high possibility the game won't be golden till 2017 (not to mention the same director working on the game) there's a 0.0001% of a chance FF7 remake will be released at the same year. And as for DQ7 and DQ8 my ...
And games should also have buggy releases too.
Well the remake isn't coming out in 3-4 years since we know nothing about it but a CG trailer from this year's E3 so you still have more than enough time to try it out until it's officially released. It's available almost everywhere, even on iOS.
Ummm I beg the differ.
Well it is a possibility. I mean FFVII never was released on a Nintendo console. Cloud Strife had few appearances in Nintendo handhelds before but nothing actually to brag about and to be classified as a part of the roster. There's a possibility for DQ11 to be released on NX too and it would be a missed opportunity for Square if they don't release the game and the remake will come out by the time when Nintendo releases the new console. Either way let Nintendo fans have their FFVII too...
''Battle gears''............... ..riiiiiiiiiiiiight.
Instead of new stories, new characters and new adventures the industry has succumbed to remakes, more sequels and less creativity. That's how creativity dies. With a thunderous applause. Even if the remake is possibly a good idea (which it isn't) do you really wish for Square-Enix to make it? Congratulations, that's exactly the industry you deserved.
Well at least I believe it'll be better, less confusing and more open-world than FFXIII. I hope.
I said multiple times already that remaking FFVII is a bad idea. First off, most of the character interactions won't work for today's standards when they can be quirky and downright weird. They work for early 3D polygonal lego pixelated visuals because it adds the charm but I don't want to see them interpreted with modern visual quality. Cloud's cross-dressing, half-naked gay wrestlers with pornstaches, Tifa slapping Scarlet would be downright weird. I don't even see how w...
@alti
I'm just joking, I'm not that crazy about graphics honestly.
Well of course they look better compared to the PS1 cinematics running 15 fps, especially compared to dated FFVII cinematics. :P
Actually I heard they started working with original concepts and pre-production stuff in 2004 before they decided to reveal it to the public. Maybe I'm wrong.
First episode wouldn't be out till 2017 at least.
