Yes I think so also, its just bad timing for Sony. But I know they will be able to overcome this, so there really is no need to worry.
On a side note this site has been filled with hate news for a wHile now and its starting to get really old.
Its great to see someone that understands money exchange. so bubs up for that. But this news sucks, for Sony as a whole, this isn't happening because the products are not selling in this market. Its happening because the management of Sony hasn't been quick enough to react to the current crisis. And that is why this is being lowered.
Thanks, Also good point about DMC that is a great idea. bubs up for that one.
I agree, the controls made it very difficult to play the game. It would have been fine if there was a button to switch what the right stick does, like maybe just clicking it, for combat/moving. but it needs to be address in the next game.
I thought it was a trilogy, i remember hearing you will play as different gods or something. Or i just made this up, which could totally be the case.
what have you been doing in home to make you not play your 360 since Thursday? I have been in there and it kept me busy for like a 1/2 day, then it was back to R2 and Gears2.
He says
"The PS3 is a third player, they are at risk of reaching a single digit market share," Greenberg added. "They are a premium priced product in a tough economic time. They have a tough position to try and sell a product."
Which I thought was pretty big of him, but then i read the rest and its just a bash fest. or quotes taken out of context. he will never change, non-the-less I expect sales for all 3 to be great.
Also remember a lot of these deals are you get you to come into the store, where most likely you will buy more. But its a great deal, and a great game. People should be taking advantage of this.
I tried Chrome out, but I didn't like it as much as Firefox. so I went back.
As for this article, the more competition the better.
Buying competition, in its self, is real business.
Demand is a function of price here is an example
demand is Q=20-2P
Now if you solve for price you get P=10-1/2Q
What this shows in economics is as price for a product falls, demand will rise.
So if each system has its own demand curve, as the price of given system falls demand will rise. So right now the 360 is selling more, but I am sure as Sony cuts the price their own demand will rise.
All these flamebait articles and such are really getting old! I come here to get news about gaming, i do not come to hear about how X console is kicking Y consoles behind.
Anyways I don't see really any of this mattering, IMO the PS3 and the 360 are doing great, as well as the Wii. This gen will end with the 3 players all doing well. I am a believer in competition, with it we are seeing great strides in gaming.
I loved Planescape: Torment, really one of my favorite games ever. I am off to try and find my copy, that I am sure I packed away.
Great write up, bubble for you. I just wanted to point out that a recession is two quarters in a row of negative economic growth, the US has not had one quarter yet. we squeeked by with something like .4 growth.
I am an economics major in college right now and what you say is true, to world is heading into a recession and asia will be hit very hard. expecially if the yen keeps gaining value to the Euro and the US dollar.
Huge sell off today in stocks around the world. A world wide recession is coming. Chirstmas should have some good sales, but next year I would expect Microsoft and Sony to be feeling some pain in there gaming sections.
Don't know man, its too close to the holiday season. I think we will see and increase in all 3.
"According to previous records, it displays that Microsoft sold somewhere above 500 thousand Xbox 360's last september and a starting point of over 300 dollars with the release of halo 3. Also, other data that supports my analysis of games selling hardware is the fact that the metal gear solid 4 bundle caused the Playstation three to double the 360's numbers...at over 500 dollars.
With the 360 being cheaper then the wii, this concludes that is is the value that is perciev...
It stupid when some of you claim a winner, or a loser. Who cares who sells more units of what, And why does it matter is Sony, Microsoft, or nintendo win the gen?
Last time I checked the purpose of business is to maximize profit. So aslong as these companies continue to make profits in their gaming divisions, the are winning in my book.
On topic. That is a nice boost in systems. I think next month we will see both systems increase on sales yet agian. With more pe...
I don't think the NXE will appeal to people as much as the price will. The price will sell a hell of a lot more then the NXE but in the end Microsoft will claim it was a little of both that sold so many this Holiday season.
Just played CoD-WoW for the first time last night, and that game is crazy fun. While I think gears was a great game, I don't see myself spending 800 points on maps that i will not get that much out of. I mean I am already broke as far as MS points go from the Fable 2 content
