I think DD will take off as fast as Internet connections allow.
So this is a British cover-up of the failing US auto industry?
/joking
Here is an article from the BBC (Not an American company, so you may believe it) that stats on 24 April 2007, Toyota 'world's largest carmaker'
here is the link http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/...
I live in the US and have thought for sometime that japan was the worlds largest auto maker.
Trust me the US media is not trying to cover up the auto industry. lots of people from the media to politicians have been very outspoken towards the auto industry.
I think you over estimate how much MS or Sony pay for HDD. I am certain they pay far less then we could get them for. This is because they buy in bulk, 100's of thousands, maybe even millions. Also I thought the first Xbox was a money loser because MS didn't control the parts that were inside, and used "off the shelf" products.
Edit- I agree with you that in lots of cases it makes more better sense for them to buy bigger HDD, if it is no extra cost. Because it feels ...
How many people do you suppose got the arcade version? I am sure there was a large percentage that got the pro, and the elite respectively.
"The PS2 is 129.99 after what 8 years on the market? The 360 is 199.99 after 3. I really don't see how MS is going to maintain their "momentum w/ price cut" strategy and turn a profit. 3-4 (can't recall the exact figure) price cuts in 3 years; seems a little, I dunno, desperate."
This is easy the arcade, p...
You bring up some good points many of those companies were really effected by the finiancal crisis. I bet the next one will be a different picture, because oil has crashed, and some banks that are on there are hurting really bad.
Also toyota is on there, and I know they are going to post a lose for the first time in like 40 years or something.
Here is a link the to 20 most profitable comapanies in the world.

Microsoft is 15.
Edit- Its almost sad, if you look through the gallary like the top 5 are all energy companies. (oil)
The exchange rate hurt them the most. Just as it has hurt many other japanese companies.
Edit @Chris
I believe in a week or so, most companies will give their quarterly update, so we should have an idea by then.
I agree art direction in this game looks Amazing. I really can't wait for it. I love the feeling this game gives me!
My brother got it this morning, haven't got to use it myself. But he says it flies.
Halo did define the Xbox, and I did indeed buy it for the game. But do you think Sony or Nintendo were scared when Halo, Halo 2, or Halo 3 released?
While I agree that KZ2 looks amazing, and is going to be hella fun. i think you missed my point, I am certain that neither company is scared of just one game be it MS or Sony. One game will not change anything, what will though is the long term lineup and future planing. MS has known about KZ2 for a long time now, just like Sony knew of MS announcements and each company plans accordingly. Trust me ;-)
Well, that was nice of them.
I don't think any company is scared of a single game. Its competition and it just makes the companies try consistently harder to out do the other, its a good thing.
I really hope this makes a 09 release date, multi plat or not, make 09 happen!
Greatest announcement ever?
I am sure many non Xbox owners now own a 360. Also the Xbox never turned a profit, where as the 360 is turning a profit, that alone makes it a success. Anyways if you sell 3 million more doesn't that mean you penetrated the market further then before?
