That is a great idea. Episodic content would do well I believe. But as you said they would have to be cheap. Cheap enough were people would buy it and not have to think whether its worth it or not. Also they could release once a month and it would be fine. and maybe 3 to 4 times a year for the larger games.
I would love to see games Like Braid come out with more content, but not for $15, I love the game, but if they add more levels or even another game it needs to be cheaper.
I think it will, but not nearly as quick as i believe Microsoft is thinking. First we need way faster internet connections, and they have to be to everyone or atleast a great majority of poeple. before it has a chance to "over take" retail sales.
Off topic- who all has played Braid? That game is AMAZING!!!
mistake...
"One plan, for instance, could give you unlimited access to everything on XBL Marketplace for a monthly premium (similar to Netflix)."
That would be a great idea. Many people would do it, and online play would be free for the rest. Include Netflix to this plan and I would be sold.
This show that if developers continue to support their games by offering some sort of downloadable content, such as Maps, Levels, Mission, ect. people are willing to buy it if its worth the cost. And with an average of $21 million at retail for offering Downloadable content, who can pass that up?
Is this what heaven is like?
my point is we see these articals all the time. They offer no new information, and just start flame wars.
As long as people continue to pay for XBOX live, and microsoft continues to see the subscription base rise, and not fall, they will continue to charge for it. Such is life.
and I just played this game, and WOW its amazing!!! everyone that can I would highly recommend you play this game.
Thats a lot of cash. I didn't think people would spend that much on extras for games.
Just shows that if companies continue to support there games, and release new missions, maps, ect. people are willing to pay for it, if its worth the value.
Another week, another one of these articles. I could set my watch by it.
The only reason these consoles have these features mentioned in the article is because of competition. If they all joined up, there would be no competition. Without competition these companies would have no reason to improve apon what is already being sold.
I really like the Idea!
Microsoft may have paid for FFXIII, but Square Enix are the ones that accepted the offer, or even came to them with the deal we don't know yet. anyways what you are seeing is competition, This is how it plays out, while you might see it as unfair, this is business. These companies Sony, Microsoft, and nintendo are out to get the biggest market share they can. The bigger the market share the more they make, just remember that.
At this point in the game I don't see any company dri...
If true this could be intresting. Because If Microsoft only is paying the damages for the contract breach, and not for the game itself. This is telling that maybe Square Enix wanted this game to be Multiplat and went to Microsoft with this deal. because they couldn't foot the bill themselves.
But this is only a rumor for now.
This is Microsoft slowly releasing the update. It just make things work better. Nothing worse then releasing the full update, and finding out there is a problem with the code.
I want to see Marathon, I don't care what system they make it for. That game kicks some A$$. Bungie make it happen!!
First day buy for sure!! This is some funny news.
They could teach it right along side the DARE program in school.
I love all the old stuff by The Used, Their new cd Lies for Liars didn't seem to have what I used to like about them. I did like The Bird and the Worm, the rest was just Meh.
Its a game with "monsters" and you KILL them. How family frendly can you make a game thats purpose is for you to kill the other side. Maybe they will have flowers shoot out of their heads when you get a head shot!
