It's a balance I suppose. I just can't help but feel that they work better as adverts than they do tools for developers. I'm quite happy to admit that in some cases they are crucial too though, and I could also be totally wrong. I've not ruled that out!

Well, we're not arguing about that. Point is, COD is silly pretending to be serious and Bulletstorm is just plain silly but trying to be fun and offer gameplay that's not simply whack-o-mole style COD nonsense. It is like Duke, but only in its tone and that is certainly not a bad thing.
But Bulletstorm is knowingly crass and a bit rubbish. COD is actually trying to be provocative and interesting.

If anything, Kinect makes things more complicated with lots of stupid hand waving. What's simpler than a d-pad and A button really?

God I hope so. Most 'actors' in games suck. This is another area of game design where Rockstar really pushes the boundaries.
