Ummm Because even when Paramount went Hd-DVD exclusive, Blu-ray had 3 of the largest exclusive supporters in Sony pictures, Fox and Disney.
IF for example Fox and Disney went HD-DVD exclusive, then I'm sure people would be sayng it's dying format, regardless if it had 300 -500 Blu-Ray titles in it's catalogue.
Just looks to be speculation, but could be a sign of things to come, big box stores can only hold so much in a warehouse, and in stores, taking up valuable retail space.
Well when you want one format to end, you want to get the message across that one your not supporting it anymore, and 2nd let the mass consumers know that hd-dvd (To potential future owners of High Definition DVD), that if you get HD-DVD you'll have to wait 3 weeks, so go with blu-ray.
atleast Warner is being generous by allows the last of their releases that come on Blu-ray and DVD 3 weeks earlier to also come out on HD-DVD.
I guess that is the strategy for Toshiba, to prolong it as much as it can, making DVD the mainstay (As they collect royalties on DVD disc, as they created it). MSoft is backing it, for other interests, as they'd rather have software/digital distrubition, where they can gain royalities, although digital distrubition isn't ready yet, delaying this as far they can.
But in the end it could cost all players involved.
This: http://www.n4g.com/NewsCom-... goes into detail why it's being extended by 3 weeks.
maybe, but it's published by Microsoft, so it's definitely not coming out for a year.
This story explains the "Extension" details further, and why it's extended by 3 weeks. It's due to them releasing HD-DVD 3 weeks later.
I'm guessing this game will likely come out after 360/PC version since it's not been talked about?
Loved the previous Advance Wars, so this will be logical pick up.
The gameplay system seems interesting, it'll be fun to jump from a car to another one.
PSP has gotten some nice titles in the past 6-7 months...
Man Gamestop will have long lines up for this, if true.
Looks like a must have game for Wii owners, and the first good game to pick up for Wii in 08.
It shall be interesting to see if 08 the home entertainment market will decline again, or rise because of HD adoption.
I think they meant demo kioks like they have now in japan.
yeah and it was pretty much ground breaking, then tons of snow boarding games came after it.
This will be the year of mergers, and big publishers buying smaller companies up. The next gen development costs too much without having a big publisher backing.
Even a company like Take 2 had to do some deals to keep their company afloat, like get 50 million from msoft for exclusive content. A huge deal with sony for the next exclusive after GTA IV, etc.
It goes to talk about that, that this year there should be a better variety of titles too.
Does everything have to turn into my system games is better than yours. There will be games all systems that will be must have's, and fun. I would expect this kind of talk if the article was wii vs. ps3 vs. 360, but it strictly talking about upcoming wii titles.
LOL...
