I would go unlimited data cellular hotspot plan, before I would ever go back to dial up.
@TheKnightofnights
I never said it wasn’t cheaper (or easier) for Sony to secure those deals then it would of been for M$ to secure them. The question is who needs them more.
Why do I care? I care because M$ wants something for nothing.
It’s great because it’s M$ desperate attempt to keep bots from “jumping out”.
M$ didn’t secure exclusive deals with some third party companies, bungie (destiny 1&2) activision (call of duty) ea (battlefront 1&2) and now rockstar (red dead redemption 2). Those deals cost Sony a lot of money, if M$ wants (needs) to fill games for its own platform, to keep its player base from dying, then pay them!
Congrats! ....on saving the Xbox division a lot of money. Congrats! ....on not having any confidence in your brand.
@Kun_ADR
There are many factors why games are larger then others. Compression is one factor, another is higher resolutions require more detailed texture mapping, more polygons, etc. Since Nintendos games don't do anything above 720p natively, (as far as I'm aware of) their games will tend to be smaller then Xbox or PS4 and certainly PC games.
@Kun_ADR
Q: "So why does Knack 2 take 30+ gb on the PS4?
A: because Sony will use quality CGI graphics with full voice dialogue during cutscenes, while Nintendo will just use in game engine models and text.
@Cy
You are correct, I wasn't aware of that.
They ruled out Fallout in the article, as their current project, unfortunately. They did say they were working on a big RPG though. There is an interesting disclaimer at the bottom....
"Disclaimer: Travel and accommodation for this trip was provided by Paradox Interactive."
My guess is Pillars of Eternity sequel / expansion, perhaps.
Let's talk hypothetical for a moment. What if Activison does the same type service, followed by Rockstar and Naughty Dog and Square-Enix etc....what will services like these mean for GameStop and other game specialty pawn shops?
Is this an industry solution to controlling that market?
Before you say no, look what Netflix did to Blockbuster.
Delete.
Fewer games on switch, means it stands out more.
It also helps that it's a Zelda clone.
Because of format, ram costs more then optical discs.
@Xx_Pistol_xX
Or they could buy another used game, doing nothing for the industry.
....and nobody cares.
Well since MS won't release sell through numbers, we will never know. I'm sure they will brag about shipped numbers.
1 million in 2 months, unlikely.
No, most companies will take the "short cut" and just do checkerboard upscaling, because it's cheaper and less labor intensive for them to do so. It's also compatible partitively between Xb1x and PS4pro.
Btw I'm not hating on Xb1x, I have a Scorpio edition preordered. It will be my first Xbox One, and I'm only getting it because of the very few exclusives MS does have. I also plan on getting a 4K Sony (65-75inch) tv this holiday season.
That's Awesome! If only PC had a physical media edition. Well I guess you can't have everything....
Most companies will do the same, unfortunately. I guess you could say, "it's the nature of the BEAST!"
Lol.
O'man that game was good on ps1 back in the day. (still got my copy) I can't wait to hear more....
I agree, I bought both games and enjoyed them. They are fun, lighthearted little romps, that I don’t regret buying at all.
